I went to this salon on the recommendation on a friend. I thought it seemed nice to begin with. The hairdresser, Jenna, seemed good. She cut my hair while wet and then dried it. She didn’t cut my hair at all when it was dry…which seemed weird. I thought we had just stated the cut when she said I was done! I was not sure about it but when I got home I was so upset. The style was not at all what I wanted. She left the back of my hair really long, and not at all the same as the front. The worst part is the there are big sections that she didn’t cut. There are long bits of hair about 2.5cm longer

The website says haircuts are $47 and up. My haircut was decent but not $75 worth which i was charged. When i mentioned that the website says$47 +, the response i got was ".Those are the prices the junior stylists charge but we haven't had any junior stylists in a long time"
Had i known prior i probably wouldn't have booked the appointment which i had to wait almost 2 weeks for. My stylist was very nice but i personally wouldn't spend that much on a haircut .
That's what made my experience at Ask just so-so.

I just had my hair colored and cut by Jenica and she did such a great job! She was so thorough and is very knowledgeable. I've had my hair done in many different places and I have had my hair butchered before. But Jenica doesn't cut corners, you can easily see that she knows exactly what she's doing and has lot's of experience. She answered all my questions and even recommended some product (olaplex)- which was very well priced. So excited to use it and to start working in all her tips that she gave me based on my particular hair type. I'm so excited for my next appointment and am looking forward

This is my second time at ask hair studio both time I had good experience. Erin was my stylist and I am very happy with my hair cut and she listen what look I am looking for, plus she didn’t judge my hair. I really like the haircut I got from Erin. She's so lovely and helpful in giving tips for proper haircare. What I love is that she went above and beyond. I actually came in for a haircut and I wasn't too happy with it. I came back a week later to have it tweaked and she did a wonderful job! I'm very pleased and I will definitely be coming back and recommending to friends. Thanks!

I felt an unpleasant tingling sensation on my scalp during the appointment. I told the stylist, but she told me it was normal. It got worse, so I brought it up again. Again, "normal."
Reader, it was not normal.
Thank god we're all under quarantine now... I'll have some time for my hair to grow so nobody notices the BALD SPOT I now have on my head.
Please do yourself a favor and try it out, let's start this balding trend together.

This place is the worst hair salon I have ever been to! My hair turned out nothing like the pictures I showed them and the service was absolutely awful!! I was seriously shocked by how rude the receptionist was to me along with my stylist. Also this place does have a bit of a mildew odour to it and it seems to be in need of a major face-lift and deep cleaning! Look elsewhere ladies...trust me

Worst customer service I've ever had... I have no idea how they're still in business.. I've been going to this place for over 4 years out of pure laziness to find a proper salon... so due to my so called stylist being away they booked me with Jamie. First of all I received no confirmation call which I've received for the past 4 years reminding me of my appointment. The day of my appointment I call over 5 times to confirm the time. No one picks up the phone, and I don't receive any call back so I head over to just make sure my appointment ( which I booked 3 weeks in advance

Had a great experience with Jaime. Went there for the first time in October after looking for a new place for hair coloring (my previous salon was great for cuts but not as experienced with coloring styles like balayage). I showed Jaime a few photos of colors/styles I was interested in and she very quickly starting working on my hair. The whole process was a lot simpler than what I've experienced in the past (hours at the salon with multiple stages of coloring) but I was pleasantly surprised at how efficient everything was. Marisa cancelled on doing the hair for my wedding 8 days before the big day.
Marisa was good at getting my hair back to a healthy state and giving me very small trims to help my hair grow longer, but she never seemed to want to handle my requests for hi-lights or lighter hair. I don't know if she's just not knowledge enough about it or just doesn't like to do it?
While she was away on her honeymoon, the other hairdresser I saw chopped off 3 inches of the hair I was trying to grow back (when I told her to only do a very small trim).
I continued to travel in to see Marisa for a total of 6 years

I definitly needed some professional help getting ready for a formal event and made an appointment based on a referral by a friend. All staff were friendly and kind and Harmony was a great stylist. I'm pretty low maintenance when it comes to hair and she was able to put something together that worked out perfectly for my event. Reasonable pricing and great service.

Jaime went in and quickly fixed it up EXACTLY like I wanted it. She was a miracle worker. I was also indecisive of the type of cut I wanted and Jaime was able to recommend a style that would work for me while I try to grow out my hair.
The salon is open late, so it accommodates my working schedule and the staff are all very nice. I would recommend ASK Hair Studio to anyone.

It's too expensive for the quality of work done. I went in wanting my hair dyed black with a purple ombré (which is difficult to achieve, I knew that going in but that's not why I'm giving them this rating.) I was there for a good 5 hours or so, and for what was done I should have been charged $60.
If you want something easy done like one colour and a cut, go for it. But if you're going to put that much money down for a hair process id go elsewhere. Overall

I just went for a haircut yesterday and I had the best experience! My hairstylist was Gloria and she was so awesome. Really worked with me and made me feel comfortable and confident in her skills. The receptionist was so sweet and fit me in the same day I called to schedule an appointment which was great. I loved the haircut Gloria gave me and blow out she did after. I can honestly say my hair has never looked nicer! I will definitely be back! :)

Sure the studio looks great, but the staff could learn a thing or two about sincerity and friendliness. I hinted a touch of unnecessary attitude.
But my beef is about the pricing. Regular color is priced at $54-64. Sounds good. Color was fine, but again, sincerity or warmth from the stylist was absent. But when it came to styling, I asked for no style (don't need it, just going to the gym after then home). So a 5min blow dry just so it's not wet, and off to pay. "Your total bill comes to $108".

A friend came to school one day with a really good ombre. A few weeks later, I attended a birthday party and saw that another one of my friends had had her gorgeous ombre done at this same place by the same person, Jamie. I knew then that I had to go to Ask to fix the mess of an ombre on my head that I had done elsewhere. The second friend had even offered me a $20 coupon.

Purchased 2 vouchers here at a great price. The place is very inviting in beautiful Steveston. The staff are all very friendly and the stylist did exactly what I wanted and provided really helpful opinions on what would look good on me. Not the most talkative but I like to read magazines anyways. Some stylists do what they want (ie: cut shorter than you want) but I just wanted a trim.

They did not put too much material on my hair for the deep condiitoning treatment but I don't know why they made my hair looked so good. It was frizz free, hydrated, and shinny. And it lasted for about two three weeks. I was sooooo happy after the treatment. I also bought the "milk shake" hydrating mouse from them after they used it on my hair during the treatment. But I did not get as good result as I received from them at home. Maybe I am not the professional.

Ask isn't my normal hair studio. I went because I found an amazing deal through DealFind and bought one for me and one for my aunt. My hair vanity aside, I figured there wasn't anything they could do to me that was irreversible if I hated it.
Wow, I... like my hair. It's not as short as I would typically cut it but that's okay. It falls well, it has body and it looks different from my normal hair.
