Cheryl Stewart RP M Ed

Cheryl has been working as a counsellor/psychotherapist for 20 years. She completed her training at the University of Western Ontario and has worked for a London community agency and in private practice for that time. Cheryl has a Masters of Education (Counselling) degree and an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.

What is counselling? Counselling is a process of meeting with a counsellor on a regular basis in order to work through life's issues or challenges. Appointments are set up on a schedule that works for both you and the counsellor and that allows for the issue to be addressed in a timely fashion. It requires the individual to wish to talk about their challenges and to want to spend time reflecting and problem-solving in order to find resolutions.

Cheryl uses a multi-faceted approach to counselling focusing on what the individual client needs to resolve their issues and life concerns. This may include such techniques as talk therapy, dreamwork, journalling, cognitive-behavioural techniques, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), and meditation and relaxation.

Payment is required at the end of each session by cash, visa, mastercard, or email money transfer. A receipt is provided. Your fee covers the time of the session as well my preparation time, record keeping, business expenses, professional development, and any applicable taxes. My fees may be covered by a third party or an insurance company as I am a regulated health professional in the Province of Ontario.
