Services
Counselling can be helpful for addressing many troubling symptoms and issues. We all experience seasons in our lives that present more challenge and difficulty than others. Where we might find the ways we have managed in the past are not as effective as they once were. Counselling assumes that people generally have adaptive needs and desires and a natural drive towards healing and growth.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), is a very effective form of psychotherapy that incorporates elements from many different treatment approaches. It has been extensively researched and proven useful for the treatment of a wide range of psychological issues.

EMDR therapy has the ability to permanently eliminate symptoms of stress and trauma and is recognized by many regulatory bodies including the American Psychiatric Association, the US Department of Defense/Veterans Affairs and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies.Unlike other forms of psychotherapy, EMDR treatment requires no homework nor does it require the client to speak about traumatic experiences in depth.
We all occasionally experience anger and like all feelings it arises for a reason. Some forms of anger are adaptive. However, for some, anger seems to take on a life of its own and they experience periods of sustained anger and regular angry outbursts. Anger management therapy can help you regain control.
Grief is the natural emotional suffering we feel in response to losing something or someone we care deeply for. There are many types of losses that can cause feelings of grief not just the death of a loved one. It is important to remember that there is no "right" way to grieve and each person moves through the grief process in a different way.
Relationships can be complicated and even the strongest experience difficulties from time to time. Particularly during times of stress and transition like the birth of a baby or retirement. As a couple, you may find that the ways you coped and connected in the past are no longer working and you want to discover a new path.

I started seing Janice last summer and came to her with a long list of problems. She knew exactly how to best tackle each issue, and I am still astounded by how quickly I obtained results !
Her schedule is very flexible and her expertise is unparalleled. She is always available by e-mail or phone to help me navigate things outside our sessions. I also love how she offers services from the comfort of her home, it provides a safe and homey environment that you can’t get elsewhere.
She provides longer sessions (approximately 1.5 hours) - so there is always time to cover everything, and she never
