After 25 years of providing counselling and training other professionals, I am still passionate about my work and find it very rewarding to be part of a process where people are learning more about themselves & actively making changes. I work with individuals, couples, & groups, using a supportive results-oriented approach to help people address the issues that are preventing them from fully enjoying their lives.

Anger is an emotion we experience when we are displeased or frustrated. It is usually a secondary emotion meaning that there is another emotion that precedes it such as emotional or physical pain, or even fear. Feelings of anger can be very intense and often occur so fast that people are unaware of the primary emotion, and unaware of the corresponding thoughts.
We will all experience some level of anxiety in our lives. It can tell us that a situation is dangerous or requires us to exercise caution. It can motivate us to practice and prepare more, possibly learn new skills, in order to face our fears and reduce our anxiety in certain situations. For some people, the anxiety is so unpleasant that they develop a fear of the anxiety itself.
Assertiveness refers to open, honest, direct communication. It is our ability to express our thoughts, feelings, wants and needs in a respectful manner. For various reasons, including low self-esteem, many people have difficulty sharing their thoughts with others (passive). At the other end of the continuum there are people who express themselves in an aggressive manner.
Depression is the state we experience when feeling very sad/ low for an extended period. Depression can indicate that we need to make changes in our life and/or seek professional help. If left untreated, it can become debilitating. We will all have times in our life where we are sad or grieving, or have less energy than usual.
Personal growth involves moving in a direction that brings us closer to who we want to be, closer to being the best person that we can be. It involves developing yourself and enjoying the process. It will vary from person to person and depends on our gifts and skills as well as our values, goals, and our idea of happiness/ success.

I have struggled with severe ADHD for my entire life. In the time that I've been seeing Heather, I've been able to accomplish so much. I've seen many councillors on my journey to being the best version of myself that I can be, and Heather has been very very solid for me. I've been seeing her for almost ten years now. She has helped me through a break-up, a failed business partnership, grief due to the loss of a loved one, and many of the other things that life has thrown at me along the way. I highly recommend Heather if you're looking at making some changes in your life. She's a good woman, and
