Flaman Physiotherapy
At Flaman Physiotherapy we are focused on you - your injury, your goals, and how best to obtain maximum results for you. All of our styles of physical therapy treatments are applied based on what we feel will work best for your specific injury. We do not believe in "cookie-cutter" solutions for individual problems.

By focusing on what the best treatment for your individual presenation is, we can attempt to minimize your injury downtime and get you back to full health as quickly as possible. Your therapist will spend about an hour with you in the initial visit. During this time we will cover your medical history, injury history, other health concerns, and your goals for recovery.
Services
The hands-on physiotherapy treatment delivered during one-on-one treatment sessions. Focused on developing a diagnosis of the underlying problem and then restoring normal joint and muscle motion and function. Acupuncture is an ancient form of Chinese medicine involving the insertion of solid filiform acupuncture needles into the skin at specific points on the body to achieve a therapeutic effect.
Biomechanical treatment can be most simply summarized as the application of biomechanics to the diagnosis and treatment of your injuries. Biomechanics is the "study of the mechanical laws relating to the movement of living organisms." Our therapists apply this when working with their clients. An initial assessment of the client is performed, including taking their pertinent history, other medical information, and injury details.
Ultrasound is a method of stimulating the tissue beneath the skin's surface using very high frequency sound waves, usually between 1 million and 5 million Hz (vibrations per second) which cannot be heard by humans. These sound waves are produced by a device called a 'Sound Head' which essentially vibrates at a chosen frequency, with lower frequencies penetrating depper than higher frequencies.
TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Neural Stimulation) and EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) utilize electrical currents flowing through electrodes placed on the body to create a physiologic change in the underlying tissues.

TENS is a typically a higher frequency current that primarily affects the nervous system and causes little to no muscular activity, or a very slow fequency current with a bit more power that will cause some mild musclar contraction.
Radial shockwave therapy, also known as Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy, is a relatively new form of treatment spreading across the medical fields. It utilizes a high-energy, low-frequency (1-16 Hz or beats per second) acoustical pressure wave to cause changes in a target tissue.

It has had excellent results treating multiple musculoskeletal injuries including tendonitis, muscle strains, trigger points, tennis and golfers elbow, heel spurs, plantar fasciitis, and calcific tendonitis. At Flaman physiotherapy we utilize the Zimmer enPuls 2.0 unit which utilizes an electromagentic system to produce the oscillating shockwaves as opposed to the large and noisy compressor systems of many other units.

I have consulted many physiotherapists, and Kurtis Klutz is by far the best. He carries himself with confidence, takes a lot of pride in his work, and practises what he preaches. He's honest, professional, personable, and the results are profound!! Would highly recommend him to anyone looking to increase mobility, recover, or simply reset and realign your mind and body. He's the real deal and sees the big picture!
