Services
Millcreek Optometry Centre and our team of optometrists and opticians pledge premium eye care and eye wear for optimum eye health and the best vision possible. When requiring vision correction for children, this is especially important because if their eye wear is comfortable and stylish, they will be more inclined to adapt to their use.
Dr. Hensel is known among his patients to be a knowledgeable and thorough optometrist. Despite cracking the odd joke and always making children enjoy their experience with comprehensive vision care, Dr. Hensel is serious about providing the best patient outcomes in a caring and compassionate atmosphere.
Dr. Champion's goal in every eye exam is to see a smile on each patient's face as they go through all of the testing to ensure their eyes are healthy and their vision is as clear as possible. This is especially true when he is working with children and tries to make each test a new "game". Born and raised in Edmonton, Dr. Champion loves working and living in his home town.
Between the ages of 19-64, our optometrists here at Millcreek Optometry Centre recommend having your eyes examined every two years, or in the case of contact lenses wearers, once a year. Certain health conditions, such as diabetes and hypertension, can increase your risk of vision problems. Often, if the changes are detected in their early stages, treatment can begin before any permanent damage has been done.
Children 6 months to 19 years of age are covered by Alberta Health Care for annual eye exams with presentation of a valid Alberta Health Care card. Our Edmonton eye care providers highly recommended your child be seen for their first eye exam between the ages of 6-12 months. This initial appointment can be used as a baseline exam and also serve as a way to catch any issues early on and to commence treatment if deemed necessary.
