If you have been injured at work, or developed a medical condition from work, there is some basic information you need to know. The most important is to immediately report the incident to your employer and the WSIB and get medical treatment as soon as possible. There are strict time limits for filing a claim with the WSIB and the longer you delay, the more likely you will be denied WSIB benefits.
The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) was established by the Ontario government to provide health care and lost wages to those who were injured at work. The WSIB is a no fault system and will provide benefits even if the accident was the worker's or employer's fault. If you have missed a time limit, you should seek help from a WSIB lawyer as soon as possible.
