In 2009, Mieko lost her beloved mother to CANCER. Her mother started her fight with cancer at AGE 54, right after the celebration of the triplets' first birthday, and lasted about 4 years. Her mother was such a caring person. She spent her entire life being kind and working hard for other people and fully neglected taking care of herself.
This 90 min will make you feel like a new person while inducing extreme relaxation at the same time. We provide massages services as an additional treatment to compliment our thermal therapy. Doing both as a combination is our clients' favourite experience, as it is a powerful healing and relaxing 2-hour session.
1. Please arrive 20 min before your session to undergo the orientation + time it takes to get changed. You will be given instructions and a quick tour. Please bring 1 large towel, 1 small towel, and your own water bottle. We will provide the locker key, Ganban-yoku outfits, and sandals. 2. After changing into the outfit provided, proceed to the heating room.
Ganban-yoku has ancient origins. Legends say a villager often saw Japanese snow monkeys resting on the heated volcanic stones to heal their injuries and relax. The folks began to follow their healing practice and noticed the benefits of the treatment. Currently, there are over 1,000 Ganban-yoku facilities in Japan.
This class is designed to boost circulation supporting the organs in performing their natural detoxification process. This practice, in combination with the Ganban-Yoku stones will gently elevate your heart rate resulting in increased blood. Expect to experience a state of well-being. When Ganban heat penetrates the body, a brief, yet beneficial, increase in body temperature occurs, leading to detox at the cellular level.

Lovely Spa. Friendly Staff. First Massage ever and it felt like heaven. Went to lie down on the stones and passed out. 5 minutes into it and I was snoring. You can feel the heat which was nice. Will make you sweat without making you feel uncomfortable or icky. Very accommodating too. Bought a membership right then and there. Also quick to respond in instagram and email.

Loved the whole experience. Appreciated the effort by staff in explaining the origins of ganbanyoku at the start of the visit. Massage provided by massage therapist Scott was very skilled and professional. The whole spa feels very clean, fresh, and meticulously maintained. Ganbanyoku tiles were very relaxing, felt rejuvenated afterwards. Looking forward to a return visit sometime!

I booked a "Massage for Two" and expected to be in the same room as my bf for this experience. Not only was this not the case it seems I paid spa prices for the massages to receive a pretty generic less then stellar experience. The RMTs were fine but I can book in with an RMT for $80. When I attend a spa and pay $120+tax I expect to receive a WOW experience. We didn't. We arrived and chose our oils, then were ushered separately into two small rooms. They were lacking in ambiance, there was no music for the first 20 minutes just the "relaxing hum" of the air purifier. Then the music kicked in and

We always have such a great experience at pocca poca. We have done the detox package every time we go and it’s always worth it. The shiatsu massages are so relaxing and therapeutic. The Ganban-yoku is also very relaxing and restorative, it’s great all year round, but I especially love it in the winter! My skin feel so soft each time. The staff are also amazing and you get these super comfortable kimonos to wear, which is a nice bonus. Overall, five stars. We love it!

I visited Pocca Poca for my first time in October 2019 and have since became a member and visited two more times. This spa was such a unique and wonderfully relaxing and rejuvenating experience using… traditional Japanese healing methods!
When I arrived, the process of the Ganban-Yoku (traditional Japanese stone bathing) was explained along with the benefits. I changed into a traditional cloth kimono outfit which was quite comfortable and was provided with a lock and locker for my belongings and a water bottle to use. The staff were so kind and informative and exuded such a calm energy.
