Hawthorne-On-Essex Daycare is a licensed non-profit community based childcare centre serving children attending Essex Public School and Hawthorne II Bilingual Alternative School as well as children in the community from ages 18 months to 12. Our daycare provides a safe, educational, fun and loving environment for your children.
By offering an array of opportunities for children to build upon their existing strengths and skills as well as discover new ones, we guide children to become empathetic, respectful, self-reliant and empowered individuals. Our play-based curriculum helps by preparing each child academically, socially, emotionally and physically for kindergarten readiness.

Services
We have been providing quality childcare for children ages 18 months to 12 years for more than 30 years. All our staff are fully trained early childhood educators (ECEs) or early childhood assistants. All staff members hold a valid first-aid and emergency CPR certificate that is updated annually and each attends professional workshops on a regular basis.
Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack are served to our toddler, preschool, junior and senior Kindergarten children. Breakfast and an afternoon snack are served to our school age children. School age children (grade 1 and up) are required to bring a packed lunch from home on a daily basis.
School age children eat lunch with the school when school is in session and in the daycare room on non-instructional days such as PA days, March break and summer vacation.Our toddler program provides a vast array of opportunities for children to build upon their existing strengths and skills as well as discover new ones.

Essex Public School offers full day kindergarten and Hawthorne II is moving to full day starting in fall 2013. The City of Toronto has published an FDK fact sheet you can access here.
