Dr. Faran Vafaie received his Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology and Masters of Science in Biochemistry at the University of Western Ontario followed by his Doctor of Optometry at the University of Waterloo.
Dr. Vafaie has been actively involved in public promotion of eyecare, giving numerous presentations and talks at public events, as well as being involved in teaching and supervising clinical techniques to optometry and family medicine residents from the University of Waterloo and Michael DeGroote School of Medicine.

During his studies he completed his ocular disease and therapeutics clerkship in Ophthalmology with Dr. Fadi Calotti, co-managing routine and on-call emergency cases at the Great Lakes Eye Center and the Brantford General Hospital.Dr. Kamra's clinical interests include ocular diseases, with a special interest in dry eye disease.

I can’t express enough how amazing EyeLabs is. I came to them in pretty rough shape with my eyes, and already (only partway through treatment), I’m feeling a million times better. The staff are incredible and Dr. Maharaj is amazing too. They’ve recently moved to Prism Eye Institute, and even with the transition, their services and support remains the same. Thank you!

Good and knowledgeable optometrist and very understanding and full of good advice. I have been going there for almost 10 years…. However when I missed one appointment due to an emergency the staff was very rude and wanted to charge me full price of appt…. I have never been late before or missed any appt . So they in essence caused their $70 missed appt fee to loose a customer for life. Very disappointing.
Update: I have since been called by the office manager to discuss the issue. I guess there probably still needs to be some training of some staff to actually take into account personal circumstances

I was referred to the dry eye clinic by my regular optometrist and so far my experience has been very positive. The last appointment I had I called to confirm that everything was still good because the weather was lousy and things were being cancelled and closed all over.. They said they couldn't find my appointment, but they got me in to see the doctor that day anyways. I appreciated that very much seeing as how I was coming from Barrie. The doctor also made sure I had everything I needed until my next appointment, which I also appreciate. I'm very glad I decided to come here because my condition

Great doctor meaning he was very engaging and friendly, easy to talk to, answered all my questions [and I had a lot], great with kids as well. Very, very impressed with the doctor. Dr Maharaj has helped me so much with my Dry Eyes issue. I come all the way from Edmonton to see Dr Maharaj. He has been helping me for over 5 years for my dry eyes. He is the best in the field. He is very knowledgeable and he is the best in his field. He has the best techniques and technologies for Dry Eyes. His staff is excellent. I found the staff so friendly and the Dr. was extremely thorough and knowledgeable. He took the time to answer all of my questions. I received more information than I ever have at an eye exam before. The Dr even gave me some suggestions and recommendations for my husband (who wasn't present) who has been having dry eye issues. My prescription is perfect and I couldn't be happier.
