The gym should not be qualified for the services and from my personal experience with them they were not able to explain me the things they have and the staff was gossiping with each other. Even I was standing there they were ignoring me. They are helpless at all

The day staff was good but i want report that the person standing at night is totally disrespectful guy he does not know how to talk or behave with someone
He told my partner standing there are you a horse like I don’t understand how can someone with such a responsibility behave like that. This was not first time. I would suggest to someone better who can behave better have reflection of shapes gym staff. The daytime staff is good though find someone like that

it was my first day at shapes. i just go and check about membership fee but their staff is very rude. Amenda her name is very rude. she dont know how to deal with customer. i didnt get membership and i never recommend anyone to join shapes. I think they have problem with only punjabi community. They should atleast polite with customers.

The way members are treated is horrible. There shouldn't be so many complaints for a place that should be helping people live better.
The staff that's hired is also trash. Customer service is poor. Maybe those jobs need more screening than just liking fitness. Maybe how to actually talk to people...

My Membership is almost about to end. I can say my overall experience was super "BAD". Nobody in management and staff knows about the word "professionalism". Bunch of Illiterates working there together, god knows how they are running that place. If I have to share my Experience with Goodlife Garden city and Shapes, Ill give "8" rating to goodlife and "2" to shapes. People, do not waste your money there. Go to "Goodlife Fitness". Way better service , management, and plans. I am going there and telling my 6 buddies to join there after their membership ends here.

Gym is Nice but there is a staff member , a tall man at night , he is very rude , he have no idea how to talk at all . Its very hard to understand him and he is loud and rude . This is a customer service job communication is a important part. He should be advised to be nice or talked to cause this happens everyday with lot of people i have seen and some of my friends as well.

Everyone that works there is great however, Amanda ruined my experience there. Supposedly members were supposed to reactivate there key fobs with the new mandates in place. No email or phone call explaining this. She, tells me this like its common sense and openly communicates that she is “grumpy” because she is still here even after being done her shift at xxhours and that I should be greatful that she was still there. I work in customer service and would never verbalize how unhappy I am to a guest at my workplace. She also spoke to me like I was a child which I did not appreciate.

July 26, 2021 Update: I have no problem following rules, but it never means tolerate being treated rudely. I have mentioned that during my 2nd visit to the gym Amanda kicked my son and me out at 12pm right after she saw me, and I have booked until 12:30pm. She said I was not booked. But I have booked one day before with Holly (due to the APP had problems on Shape's end I was told to call to book when I tried to book on the APP), and my booking was confirmed. She didn't ask Holly or listened to my explanation; she said, "stay here in the front, don't go anywhere" then she went straight to the child

Me and my wife was tricked into the a more expensive membership on 25th of June. About a week later, we realized we didn't need all the extra stuff requested to downgrade our membership. We didn't get any response via their corporate email. The employees were very rude and refused our request. They told us we only has 7 days to make changes and they can't do anything beyond 7-day period. When asked if we could speak to a supervisor or manager, the lady who helped with registering our membership told us again that they cannot help us. And lied about leaving a voice message explaining

Open 24/7 once again! Way better as there are far fewer people in the gym at this time (3 a.m.). Staff reached out to me about some issues I have with this place, so I appreciate that they still take the time to address issues and try to resolve them, will give 5 stars for putting in the effort, thanks!

I have been working out for over 10 years, I have been to many different gyms and this has by far been the worst service/ facility I have used. Shapes do not care about their members, they care about money. I have witnessed even front desk staff being treated poorly. I joined the gym a couple of months before the renovation on a 1-year contract. After the renovation was complete, I was unsatisfied with the new layout. It was no longer the facility I had previously joined. They informed me I would still have to pay out the entirety of my contract

If you cancel a membership, you have to give 30 days notice but they will charge you an additional payment beyond those thirty days. When I asked for the reason, they said it has to do with some bs when you first sign up. Such sleez bags. Tina from head office is horrible, she is so rude and unprofessional in emails, using emojis to mock people. What a joke of a business.

The head office has literally forced my hand into cancelling. They are horrible to deal with. It even takes them 30 days to cancel a membership....anything to get more money hey, I wouldn't be surprised if it took longer just so you make more money.
A little advice shapes... when a customer calls with some questions and concerns; maybe you should be more considerate.

I signed up for a membership with Shapes in September 2016. I had requested an Associate Membership for only the Pembina location and buddy training with my partner at the time. It turns out the consultant signed me up for a basic membership which is twice the price. She had said that the buddy training would be worked into the cost but didn't mention it was spread over the entire contract duration not over the time period recommended for the training sessions, so I thought the higher cost was for a shorter time at the beginning and then the cost would go down once the buddy training sessions

Inquired about purchasing personal training and was told that it was going to be an additional $20 over and above my membership of 19.66 biweekly, so I signed up. When I checked my account 2 weeks later Shapes was deducting the 19.66 plus $67 biweekly for my sessions. I called and ask why, Shapes head office said that is what it cost, I told them that that is not what Dayna told me. They said I should have read the contract. When I was inquiring about the personal training all Dayna keep telling me that it would be only $20 more than what I was paying and she practically forced me to sign the

Recently signed on to a one year contract which i tried to cancel on the 7th day by policy. they offered a 3 month contract but failed to tell me i would be paying more than a one year contract and also failed to inform that i would have to pay $197 upfront which is hard to do on a student budget. i was warned that shapes rips off people, and unfortunately learned the hard way. im unable to cancel my membership as a result.

I was a Shapes member about 9 years ago, and at the time, I didn't really understand people's complaints about how they treat customers. Today, however, I figured it out. I don't live in Winnipeg anymore, so am now a member at another gym in Calgary. Both my gym and Shapes are IPFA affiliates, which is supposed to mean that your gym membership will be honored by other IPFA affiliate gyms when you're out of town. I have used my IPFA gym membership in a number of other cities, and never had a problem. However, I'm in Winnipeg for about a week while my father is having open
