Discovery Child Care was established in 2006 in Calgary's downtown core. Our goal at Discovery Child Care is to offer high quality child care, in a supportive, safe, educational and developmentally appropriate environment. In 2008, we received accreditation status from the Alberta Association for the Accreditation of Early Learning and Care Services.
Accreditation is a voluntary program which is committed to raising the standard of care children receive in Alberta. It is a rigorous program, which measures the quality of the care provided against a set of standards and criteria. It involves parents, staff and owner/operators to recognize the level of quality in their program and to continuously improve and promote quality care.

Our "learning through play" approach is applied in a secure, fun-loving, and stimulating environment where children's diversity and individual differences are recognized and respected. Our staff members are diverse, well-trained, and strive to offer the best care in a cozy, family-oriented atmosphere.

My daughter went here for almost a year and it was an absolutely lovely place. All of the teachers and staff are wonderful with the kids, and my daughter would always ask for them, even at home! Loving environment and I saw great progress in my daughters learning as well throughout her time with them. More than recommend this child care!

My daughter has been with Discovery for about 3.5 years now. I personally have never felt better as a parent leaving my child in such capable hands. I feel like I’m handing her over to family and know that the teachers treat her as such. She has grown so much since she’s started attending, she had friends and her communication and growth amazes me daily. I would/ and DO recommend this child Center to anyone who wants to listen. As long as we can be there... we will be:)

My child has been at Discovery Child Care for 6 months and it was the best decision in child care I could have made. My child has been potty trained, learned many songs, his numbers, alphabet and much more. I am happy to see his growth and development under their care. The owner operators clearly are engaged in the day to day events and care for the kids. I feel comfortable talking with both the teachers and care operators regarding my child. Great center, great value. Highly recommend.

My child loves going to this daycare and is very happy here and often is enjoying herself so much when we arrive to pick her up she doesn’t want to leave. The teachers are very caring and treat the children as if they are their own and know all the children’s names. I have noticed my daughter grow and develop very quickly here with learning to count, the alphabet, writing skills. The teachers and the owners understand all the different children’s personailities and work with them to thrive. Highly recommended to any future or current parents.

I can't even begin to tell you how impressed I am with this daycare. Ms.Elna is a wonderful woman and she has carefully handpicked her staff to ensure that every child feels loved and important. My son is a very high energy and strong child and has been a bit delayed with his speech development, therefore expresses frustration and anger through physical means. Unfortunately, the previous day care that I had him in, refused to further deal with him and pretty much told me that they are afraid of losing other clients because of my child, rather than addressing the situation and helping my son and

Such an amazing daycare with caring teachers and staff. I love that it's a small accredited daycare and that it feels like a family environment at the same time. The curriculum and activities are well thought out and the kids are genuinely happy and get lots of free play and outdoor play time. Location is ideal also if you work or live west of downtown - easy pick up and drop offs on foot, bike, car or ctrain! Highly recommended.
