Services
You will receive a formal quote for preparing a Report. Professional Services Agreement and Non-Disclosure Agreement will be sent for your review. The estimated timeline will be provided for conducting the interview. Please note that firm submission dates can't be provided as the process of interviewing depends on many factors.
We offer free 30-minute consultations for all legal matters. During the free consultation, the lawyer you meet with will discuss how fees are charged and what type of a retainer will be required in order for us to act for you in your legal matter. Generally, the consultation starts with you and the lawyer discussing the facts, background, and court history (if any) of your case.
At Cote & Evans Trial Lawyers, we can assist you with all your residential conveyancing needs. Whether it is buying, selling, re-financing or changes to title, we've got you covered. A title insurance will assist against a problem relating to fraud, title defects, etc. The insurance time span is for the entirety of the period you own the property.
While not true of the other areas of law, all of the lawyers at Cote & Evans Trial Lawyers practice family law. Accordingly, all of the lawyers are experienced and capable of handling all types of family law matters. Phil Cote and Paul Evans have been practicing family law since 2010 and 2012 respectively, and are the most experienced at the firm, but they also charge the highest hourly rates.
When you meet with a lawyer at our firm to prepare a will, you will be provided a "Wills Questionnaire" to complete prior to any drafting. This questionnaire will allow you to go through and list all the assets you currently have and decide how you want things to be divided even before you speak with a lawyer.

To secure my friends business Phil Cote told her she had a % winnable case against ICBC, then proceeded to drag the case out for almost 3 years. He took advantage of her fragile mental health due to the death of her son. He never returned her phone calls, "always in court", passed her off to his underlings, all the while nickel and dime-ing her to death. It became clear to her his intention was to prolong the case, charging her for every phone call or email requesting an update from him. No update ever came. He seemed afraid to go to court and kept pressuring her to settle after securing

Cote & Evans are a great law firm. I had a long and hard family law matter . My lawyer ms. Bose was amazing. Went out of her way to make me comfortable and talked to me as a person and really truly cared. She walked me through everything and made sure my child's best interest was taken care of. Great experience. I hired Paul for the conveyancing of my rental property. I usually go through a notary as I always believed it is a lot cheaper. I hired a lawyer due to a horrible tenant that made selling this property a nightmare. I saw Jessica once for legal advice for arbitration which was money well spent (one hour of a consultation) as I firmly believe anyone who rents their home or rental home should seek legal advice; landlords do have rights, I discovered, it all depends on how you fill out paper work and present your case. Paul did they conveyancing and he also helped me with my arbitration

Shreyashi Bose or Shreya Bose breached the retainer agreement and willfully and recklessly breached her duties. I had a verbal agreement with Paul Evans one of the owners of the firm. Philip Cote is aware of the situation and he just ignored my email. I have been communicating via email with them to rectify the breaches and they are not willing… to. They would do anything it takes for their own economic benefit. Now they are refusing me service and still refusing to rectify the breaches on the retainer agreement. Phil Cote has been my lawyer for a few years and did an amazing job in the eight day divorce trial last year. Phil is very detailed ,knowledgeable and also very personable! I would highly recommend him ,especially if you are in a high conflict divorce or need a lawyer that represents well in trial.The judgement on my trial went 100% in my favour thanks to Phil's attention to detail and extensive knowledge of the law!
