Westdale Jewellers is, and always has been, a small "old world" manufacturing and retail shop. Decades ago, as a wholesale custom design and repair facility, only "regular retail" stores brought us their challenges. If you've ever been to a store that has to "send your job out", you may have dealt with us already!
As times changed, we grew into a custom facility that accommodated the public as well as stores. In the late 80's, we moved into the Westdale area and now focus on our own retail clientele. Every member of our multi-talented staff not only assists clients at the sales counters, changes batteries and watch bands, and accepts repair jobs, they also create pieces in the shop, on the bench.

Our Jewellery Service includes extensive in-house capabilities, a network of associates in the GTA that supplement our inventory and services, a reputation for our ability to perform quality work at reasonable prices, all from our in-house metalsmith workshop.

If you bring in your own artwork, there's no need to settle for "pretty close", you'll get exactly what you show us.
For engraving services, Westdale Jewellers has access to the most recent CAD, Impact, Photogravers and Laser engravers on the planet. Because we time-share at an exclusive facility, we are able to reproduce any image you provide, from flat, bas-relief and up to full 3-D. We also work with amazing hand engravers who have many decades of experience working in traditional styles using century-old techniques and tools.
We have done work for almost every insurance company you can think of and have never had a complaint. Our customers want what they had replaced with the same thing. Not similar, the same. That's why they come back over and over again. When it comes to stones, we "hard grade". That means that if a stone is in the middle of a SI1 and SI2 grading, we down grade it to SI2.
With time, pearl strands will sometimes need to be serviced with a reknotting or restringing job. Some customers have a strand of natural Polynesian black pearls. Others have Chinese freshwaters, and some have stone or glass beads. Some strands are individually knotted between each element, and some are strung on a piece of fishing line.

A few months back I took a new steel bracelet watch in to be adjusted for my wrist. Calling ahead to make sure it was within their abilities and something they offered, the owner Dan started out saying it was something I could just do myself. Fully aware of that fact, I insisted that the watch was of great value. Therein attempting to adjust it… myself was potentially damaging to the watch. I had a TERRIBLE experience here. I got a memorial done for my mother in law who had passed the following year. I got her picture done on a gold pendant, and it came back with marks on it and she was missing an ear. I was so disappointed I had let Dan know, and he blamed me saying it was my fault. He refused to work with me and he stopped answering my emails and calls, I had to contact BBB (better business bureau) and put a case on this business just for him to answer me. He still refused to work with me, as I was not satisfied paying full price for a mistake done on something important. He's not

What a horrible experience I had here. I was looking to purchase wedding bands for my wedding. From what I saw, the owner, Daniel treated his staff beyond poorly. He was barking at them like dogs and one of the employees was in tears from his derrigatory comments. This alone is reason enough for me to take my business elsewhere and I highly suggest that you all do the same. The owner was telling another customer in the store about a cattle prod he has in the back room and jokingly said it was to keep his employees in check. I 100% will not be returning to this store.

Make sure you get anything they agree to do for you fully detailed in writing. We went in a year before we needed to for custom wedding bands and he agreed to also replace the band on my engagement ring for a certain price. He only wrote fix on the paper. When we went back to try on the mold for my ring he said he couldn't do it ... wouldn't do it… for the price and wouldn't change the price quoted. This was 23 days from my wedding. At one point he looked at me and asked me what I wanted him to do ... when I answered do what you committed to and replace the band on my ring ... he said"do

I was in a few months ago looking for an appraisal on an engagement ring. I had held on to it for nearly 5 years after the relationship ended. I finally felt it was time to part with it.
Although the staff was pleasant.. they were asking for proof of ownership. Obviously I dont have that after all these years and it was a gift to me.
The shop… attendant said there were a lot of break ins in the westdale area lately.
I felt that because I'm young, I wasn't treated fairly, and possibly be grouped in as some type of "burglar".
It left a sour taste in my mouth and to be honest I dont think I

I may not have much history with Westdale Jewelers, but can tell you this is not some big box store. This is your "personal" jeweler. The guy you come to for custom work, the guy who you recommend your friends to. This aint Zales or Robbins Brothers. He almost guarantees the craftsmanship of his work.
Security is tight and as it should be. It's comforting to have that around sometimes.

I had a fantastic experience at this store! The owner is the most knowledgeable man I have ever encountered in the jewellery business - and I shopped around before picking a place to fix my engagement ring! He and the rest of his staff were very knowledgeable and pleasant, their work was done quickly and the result was flawless. I will definitely be coming here again.
