Friendly locals. They all know each other. For a Vietnamese restaurant they make Japanese sushi. Interesting.. But non-Asians can't tell the difference 🤷‍♂️
As long the food tastes great.

Was worried I might not find good sushi in Duncan.... boy was I wrong!
This is one of the BEST sushi spots I've eaten at. Ask for the off-menu items... they won't disappoint!
My new regular... im happy!!

We found that this is more of an interpretation of Japanese food and the prices are high. They were nice enough, but the service was slow and the server didn't write down the order, so of course they forgot 2 of the items we ordered. They never came back to our table after our food arrived, so we eventually just got up to leave, we didn't even have a chance to ask for the missing dishes.

Amazing sushi. Only place I will go for sushi on the island. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Amazing quality fresh fish and kind staff.

This sushi restaurant had a pretty weird vibe going on. It took us a minute to realize why we felt a bit ooky spooky in there...then we realized the restaurant was COMPLETELY SILENT even though it was full! It was off putting. Sushi was ok but overpriced. Also took 45mins to come out of the kitchen. Just get dinner at the pub

Was looking for a quick bite on way to Comox, and found this place online. Has a wonderful menu of Japanese and Vietnamese, so we had to check it out! We had the beef Gyoza, the Vietnamese pork spring rolls, and a couple sushi rolls- everything was super fresh, delicious and on point. Comparable if not better than places in Vancouver. Our server was sweet, and attentive. We learned as we were leaving, that this is a long standing family run business, who has been around for 20 years!! Will make a point of returning anytime we drive through! 10/10 would recommend!!

This might be the best sushi I’ve ever had. It was delicious and fresh and what was really impressive was the care the owner puts into each dish - giving recommendations on how to eat certain things or what order. It made the whole experience really special. I’d highly recommend!

This restaurant makes my favorite hard to find dish, Cha gio. I think it's the empress roll on the menu. A fried spring roll with rice wrapper with meat, noodles and veggies inside. A bit expensive but I think they are a bit fragile so a bit more difficult to make so that could explain the cost. Loved them! Great service

After eating mostly western food for a couple of days, my body craved for something Asian.

We chanced upon this place. Apparently this is one of the better places for Japanese food in Duncan. Interesting that it also serves Vietnamese food though the selection is limited.

Maybe it is Duncan where good sushi is not readily available. The prices made my eye popped. Chirashi (subject to availability) is $35! The price is definitely on the high side when compared to Vancouver.

My friend liked the house special roll which came in 5 pieces.

I devoted to try the beef sate pho which was made with

Decided to try this place out on our way home to victoria and we were pleasantly surprised! The best sushi we’ve had in a long time. 35 minute wait but we had quite a large order and it was well worth it. The fish was so fresh, crispy veggies, fresh sauces, the good chopsticks, everything was great! Appreciated it coming in a cardboard tray too instead of a bag. Very easy to eat on the go. The hostess was extremely friendly and easy to order with too. Will definitely be coming again any time we are in Duncan! Thank you!

NEW FAVOURITE SUSHI PLACE 🍣 🍱🤯
My brother & I grow up eating sushi, since moving to Victoria we never found a place that was as good as our favourite in Seattle.
Working up on Duncan, on a whim we gave Nha Trang Maki a try, & I’m glad we did 😄
We where blown away by how much care & pride they put into each roll and ingredient making the dining experience not just enjoyable by taste, but visually too 🙂
Of course the service was fantastic & very friendly.
Go here if you haven’t already! You won’t be disappointed 👌🏻

Myself and several other people left comments on Ash Macdonald’s review tonight. All those have since been deleted. They were terribly rude customers who tried to walk out without paying their bill. Unbelievable. This is fantastic local restaurant and the owner did not deserve to be treated so poorly. We always have fantastic service and wonderful food.

Best sushi on the island and maybe the best sushi I've had! The sashimi was amazing and I went there 2 days in a row :) It's not only the food that makes it inviting but the atmosphere is friendly and the service was outstanding. I forgot to get the name of the young woman but she was engaging and very funny- we can always a good laugh during a meal. I can't wait to go back❤️

While visiting Duncan, we were looking to have a late lunch when we came across this place. It was almost 2pm when we entered the restaurant and they told us that they were closing at 2pm, but to come in and they would serve us lunch. They also told us not to worry about rushing to order and eat. We ordered our food and enjoyed it when it came, the service and food was excellent.

Popped in here for lunch the other day with my aunt while visiting Vancouver Island. I confess that I haven't been to a non AYCE sushi restaurant before so I was a little disappointed to find out that this place is NOT AYCE (only because I love sushi so much!).

The two of us ended up ordering four types of sushi: Sake roll, dynamite roll, yam roll, and rainbow roll. The verdict: loved the yam roll and the dynamite roll, the rainbow roll was moderately good, but I was a bit disappointed with the normal sake roll (just salmon and rice). The rice on the sake roll seemed different than the rice

Best sushi and customer service in Duncan. There's a Korean \sushi place around the corner, don't go there, please. This place has everything delicious, and the owner/waitress is very kind and entertaining.

Best Japanese restaurant in the Cowichan Valley by far. Their tempura prawns are done perfectly and never come out greasy. Salad roll with peanut sauce is a great starter and I always order their signature roll.

The lighting is too dark and temperature was cool.

Flavour was pretty good but didn't taste fresh. I rate food appearance low only because it is difficult to see the layers of ingredients with the low lighting.

Waitress was friendly.

Went to Nha Trang a few weeks ago and probably would not go back. Ordered some salmon sashimi and the pieces were quite thin, not what I was expecting. The crab chowder was good, but pretty small serving. We were still hungry when we left, but spent more than $30 each for our meals.

We ordered our food before most of the people around us, yet our food was the last to arrive. The people around us were actually able to eat their food, pay, and leave, before our food arrived. Nothing special or fancy about our order, I was stumped. Not worth the money, can't think of a saving grace for this

My sister visited town so we decided to go visit this place since Duncan doesn't have many Asian dining places.
Food was little pricy and tasted mediocre. But hey, not bad for Duncan.
When I received the check, I saw that either waitress or the owner had put the 15% tip on my bill already WITHOUT asking us. And they didn't even mention it to us even after I put my credit card into chip reader to pay. The credit card machine prompted me to TIP as well!
Lucky I saw the bill included 15% tip before I paid with credit card.
Be ware. Owner or manager never mentioned about tip being included
