A family-run cottage resort situated just minutes from Ontario's crown jewel, Algonquin Park. Situated on the shore of Oxtongue Lake our cottages are located in manicured grounds, with no roads to cross or hills to climb to get to the beach. Our 2021 summer weeks are almost booked, and fall dates are filling in quickly too.
Spring has some availability. We do not usually open until May long weekend - it all depends on Mother Nature. Our beachfront property is complete with activities and amenities to entertain the whole family. Explore the lake in canoes, kayaks or pedal boats, play on our playground or shuffleboard, or relax with a movie or ping pong in our rec hall.

We had only been in for a few days when we heard from the health unit that they wanted to do a site inspection of our pump-house. The change in owners had triggered this visit. We were informed that the water system was well below code and that the previous owners had been notified in 2008, but had not done anything.

Went up june 29 and left July 1st of 2020. We had a great experience. Staying at cottage #2 was amazing because we were right beside the shore and close to the nice dock. The free kayaks/canoes were a great bonus. The cottage itself is good for your needs, but I didn’t go there for the lavish lifestyle - I went there to enjoy the outdoors.
Having your own fire pit was also a major plus (some other places have a communal fire pit, which isn’t something I prefer).
It’s also very close to Algonquin and they were able to provide cheaper Algonquin passes for me! $10/day where as it’s $18/day

A horrible experience to say the least. Owners/operators are so rude and unhelpful. I booked there based on friend's suggestion and the website description which turned out to be just fantasies. I drove 3 hours for this piece of neglect. The place is crumbling. We rented 2 cottages 8 and 9. Both were in appalling state of neglect and in desperate need of repair. In cottage 8 the fridge and the washroom flush were not working. The paint is peeling. We got transfer to cottage 5 and stayed in 9. The screen net in cottage 5 was broken and the door didn't lock well. The stove in 9 didn't work. The premises

My family and I love this place. It's under new ownership recently and the new owners are doing an incredible job. Great waterfront, park and rec hall. Close to Algonquin West gate and Huntsville. Kid friendly. Thanks Jenny and Jason and family for revitalising the resort I have so many memories of as a child.

Our stay was fantastic! Under new ownership, the cottages have undergone repairs and a sense of pride and community has been restored. There is a lot to do for all, including a new, amazing climber for children, water trampoline and slide, fully stocked rec hall, kayaks, paddle boats and more! The beach is right outside the cottage doors and the lake is lovely. The view is serene and there is plenty to do with Algonquin park very close by, as well as towns such as Huntsville. You will not be disappointed with your stay at White Birches!

We have stayed at White Birches Cottages for several years now. Our group books the same week each year and we have not been disappointed at all. Jenny and Jason are fantastic hosts, so much so that we have a pot luck dinner each year and they join all of us for dinner. The cottages are just what is needed, enough sleeping room and space enough to relax. Looking forward to our next vacation week in 2018!

About three weeks ago my boyfriend and I stayed here and had a fantastic weekend! The cottage was clean and organized with all your basic necessities, all you really needed to bring was food. You have your own fire pit, free usage of kayaks and canoes and literally ten feet away from the lake. The evening view is spectacular!:) Jason was very helpful with whatever we needed and put a lot of work into these cottages. Pay no mind to previous reviews!!! We had asked Jason about the reviews and his story was completely different about the previous troublemaking visitors. They had left the cottages

Did not like my experience there at all, the staff were not helpful, me and my friends booked 3 cottages to do our annual cottage trip, it was the first and the last time for us there, the cottages were decent from the inside, but the owner (JASON) was really bad, he had no costumer service skills at all,we got kicked out because he said we made a lot of noise, he called the cops on us without even warning us. I'm not sure what to say here, but i hope he doesn't lose all of his costumers, because he just lost one.
