Yonge Hearts is a non-profit child care centre which has operated in North York since 1989. We are licensed to care for children from birth to five years of age. Toronto Boards of Education, Toronto Library, as well as families in the community. At YHCCC we are proud to work closely with the families enrolled, to provide a warm, nurturing and safe environment for the children.
The staff and I are proud to be involved in their early learning where we enjoy watching them learn through play. We can see friendships blossoming, hear their laughter as they play, and the endless chatter between peers and with their teachers. Providing excellent care goes beyond providing excellent programming.

Services
Yonge Hearts' dedicated and caring teachers are trained and skilled in the child care field. Many of our teachers are Registered Early Childhood Educators in good standing, and all teachers have current CPR and First Aid training. Every year the staff at Yonge Hearts attend workshops and other training opportunities so that they have recent and up-to-date knowledge of child development.
Our Infant Program is designed to create a warm, nurturing and safe environment where the babies are encouraged to explore using all their senses as they grow. In order to accommodate each child's needs, all of our infants are on individual schedules. Our goals are to advance their development in each area - social, emotional, gross motor, fine motors/cognitive and language.
The Toddler Program is designed to encourage individual exploration. We offer a wide variety of experiences as each child learns at his/her own pace. The Toddler rooms are divided into several areas: Dramatic Play, Block & Construction, Quiet Corner, Creative, Sensory, Cognitive, and Science and Exploration.
In our preschool program we use all 'teachable moments' to focus on developing independence, self help skills, social/emotional and cognitive skills. We encourage positive reinforcement through helping them to work through their differences by using appropriate language to express what they are feeling.
In addition to regular communication with staff, parents are welcome to share their ideas, cultural celebrations and customs, items and books, etc. Parents are also encouraged to volunteer for field trips and to be a part of our monthly enrichment program. We hold holiday pot-luck dinners, summer fun fairs, and other special events to foster the community feeling at the centre.

I wish I could give 6 stars.
My child has been attending Yonge Hearts for 2 months. We switched from another daycare in the area. I’m so happy with the switch. Having come from another daycare, this place truly exceeds expectations.
1) The food looks high quality and there is a good variety of different meals, but alternative options if your child is a picky eater. They take 3 pictures each day (breakfast, lunch and snack) and upload to the heymama app.
2) They always share at least 1 photo of your child doing an activity and a few updates about the day. They keep you informed and provide

My kids have been attending Y&H for the last 4 years and I really like them. Staff is professional, place is clean (considering it's a day care facility), the activities program is well structured and the location is great. For the last couple of years a few condos were erected around Y&H which limited the amount of direct Sun light and causes issues with parking because condo residents/visitors think they are entitled to use Y&H's parking (which is small). The waiting list take more than 1 year, so get on it as soon as you can! It's a bit expensive as well (~CAD1,500/month for infants).
