Newman Insurance began operations in 1871, serving the Hastings County and Quinte areas of Ontario. Gary Newman purchased the brokerage in 1987. Since then, his children Calvin, Gwen and Janet have joined the company, making it a truly a family business. In 2006, Calvin moved into the role of President.

I moved to Ontario recently and had to change over my car and home insurance (I did not want to stay with my previous provider). The response time has been great from Tim C., he was very helpful and patient as there were many steps involved for an out-of-provincer that we painfully had to go though. The prices are much better than what I previously had and I am so so looking forward to not having to sit on the line waiting to talk to an insurance representative for 4 hours to change something/obtain driving records on my policy. Good job Tim! Thanks for making the purchase of insurance a tolerable

We have been customers for almost two decades now. Mackenzie Ray is really excellent to deal with and she gets my husbands humour. Mackenzie has actually brought savings to our attention! That is unheard of. They find us great rates. I have had to deal with a claim and it was very well handled. I highly recommend this company. Bob Brown delivers a professional and we will stay loyal, as they have definitely treated us well!

Stay AWAAAAAY! Although my representative Peter Harrison had been great the Newman family who I had a commercial policy with was dreadful. the owner of the company who was senior admitted to being on his way to retirement and wanting to end on a good note. After 2 yrs of paying monthly insurance dues, He was honest and fair enough to admit to a administrative error with full willingness to settle. His son immediately took over after seeing the amount of the claim, disqualified the claim over false allegations and refused to take any calls thereafter informing us that they were discontinuing our
