We have been ordering take out from Loonho for 15 years and have never been disappointed, until now that is. This was our first time ordering this year. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!! We ordered our usual three dishes and two egg roll. The egg roll were fine but the rest was terrible. The portions were significantly smaller. The chicken chow mien tasted like boiled bean spouts and there wouldn’t have been an oz. of chicken in it. The cantonese chow main was equally tasteless and deficient of pork, shrimp and chicken. Went for lunch today. Food was cold and gross. Only ate what I could because of being diabetic.. desserts was nothing to look at. Only thing that was good was a glass of water.
Will not go back . Only seen one staff member, she was sitting at a table playing on her phone.
I could have gone to casino for a better buffet for same money.

Service is excellent, the food not so great. It tastes very bland compared to other similar Chinese buffets. The buffet island is small with a limited number of foods I attended for dinner and most of the trays had veggies didn’t really seem worth the $15. Sitting area is large with lots of tables. I’m giving 5 star for service because someone was always there to check in to refill beverages and take away dishes. Overall score 2 stars

My partner recommended that I try this place. We ordered in. Unfortunately my partner had not tried the wonton so wasnt aware that it is basically wonton wrappers fried. I called to verify it wasnt a mistake because Ive never had a wonton without filling&was told it was no mistake. At this point I just wanted wonton so my partner was nice enough to go to jasmine Thai, they were amazing. On the left is Loon Ho wonton on the right is Jasmine Thai wonton would not recommend Loon Ho.

Unfortunately I had given this restaurant a 5 star review 2 weeks ago. I've never had an issue but apparently customer service has gone down here. We had the buffet tonight. Everything was cold. Meat. Veggies. Soup. Everything. The dessert I tried to eat was stale. When it was brought to the attention of staff, they told us to let them know next time the buffet is cold and they will give us warm stuff from the back. No thanks. You've just lost our business. There was no compensation offered. We paid full price. I was not expecting compensation however an apology would have sufficed.

Bang for your buck, this is the place to fill up, on your favorite Chinese food. Though the chicken balls were a little too dry for my liking. The deep fried chicken wings were quite large, meaty and perfectly cooked. I could literally, just go in for those, with some Buffalo hot wing sauce. Which I would have to bring myself! There are the traditional prepackaged goop...eg. Soya sauce plum sauce etc. With sweet sour sauce being the only hot sauce.

I'm a fan of not-expensive Chinese restaurants and the Loon Ho is a fine example. The buffet is not as extensive as (say) Mandarin but then, not as costly.
There is a Chinese restaurant in Belleville that serves peas and carrots; also, cocktail sausages complete with wrap-around bacon and a toothpick.
But I digress.
This is basic Chinese food and as such, pretty good value for the money.
