Dr. Jenghis Kung grew up in Kamloops, British Columbia and graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1999 with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. He has worked as a general dentist for the past 15 years at Brentwood Dental Group. Dr. Michelle Kim was born and raised in Vancouver. She obtained her Bachelor of Science (1994) and her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (1998) from the University of British Columbia.
Teething usually starts with a small bump visible in the mouth, and depending on the individual child is a very smooth and relatively painless process to an extremely painful experience. Primary teeth have long been regarded as just a temporary precursor to the more permanent teeth. A proper brushing technique will remove all the plaque from the surfaces of the teeth but only flossing can remove the plaque between the teeth.
The mechanical action of brushing removes soft bacterial plaque from your teeth while fluoride helps to strengthen the outer layer of enamel against bacteria that causes cavities. It is recommended to use a soft bristled toothbrush with gentle pressure and brushes should be replaced about every 3 months or when you notice the bristles are splayed.
Primary teeth have long been regarded as just a temporary precursor to the more permanent teeth. The front teeth are replaced by the age of 6 years. However, the primary posterior teeth are not replaced by their counterparts until age 10 to 13 years. Primary teeth are important for chewing, maintaining the space for the permanent teeth and helping the normal growth of the jawbones and muscles.
A proper brushing technique will remove all the plaque from the surfaces of the teeth but only flossing can remove the plaque between the teeth. There are many different types of floss and it is important to choose the right type of floss for your teeth. Our hygienist can guide you in choosing the right floss type and the flossing technique best suited to your mouth.

I'm embarrassed to say I haven't visited a dentist in a long time. I was dreading the first visit but the hygienist and dentists were great. What really put me off from other dental practices, and why I was so tardy in my visits, was they were quick to upsell and do unnecessary work to max out my coverage insurance. The professionals at Brentwood Dental discussed recommendations and helped educate. I was very comfortable with their direction. The hygienist, Stephanie, was super patient and skilled. My family has the best experience with Dr. Brian Hu. Last year, my dad who’s in his late 80s had a really bad gum line infection, and he’s one of those people who refused to go to the dentist, but due to the severe pain, so he must go see a dentist this time and fortunately, we got Dr. Hu to treat him. I like the people who worked at Brentwood Dental Group. Dr Raj is a good dentist, he listen and answer to all my question. The hygienist who looked after me is also very good. I took my 88 year old father to Dr. Hu at the clinic for a consultation today. Without going into details of my dad's dental history and our previous dealing with Dr. Hu, let me say that Dr. Hu completely lacked interpersonal skills and let his ego get into his way of caring for his patients. Seriously I love my dentist. I have been to so many in my life and no matter how nice they were I never felt comfortable and I could still feel everything they were doing no matter how much novicane I was given. Dr Virk makes me feel very relaxed and taken care of. I had a huge procedure today and not one bit of pain. Was done ahead of schedule and I have no anxiety when I'm getting work done in the chair. I've always been terrified of having my teeth worked on and now I actually look forward to it. Thank you so much. The entire staff is a delight to deal with and amazing at their jobs

Since visiting this office I can say I am no longer afraid of the dentist! Great environment, and friendly staff. I had my cleaning and exam which was long overdue. Quite frankly I expected a long list of work to be done. Luckily only two fillings were recommended. They went out of their way to help me understand my insurance . There is not too many people who like going to the dentist, (myself included), so I imagine that it is difficult for a dentist to get a good review. That said, I would like to commend Dr Hua. He has been my dentist for the last few years, and while I expect that I will never again find a dentist as cheap as my previous one, I haven't felt that Dr Hua or Brentwood Dental has over-charged me in any of my visits. I don't carry any dental insurance, so I must admit that I do tend to only visit the dentist only when I can no longer avoid it.

Last year, I found out that my long time dentist of 20 years had pleaded guilty to insurance fraud. For the past few years, I hadn't been able to see her, only a constant turn over of fill ins in her practice. I was told she was on family hiatus, but a friend at my health insurance carrier tipped me off that she and her husband had been found guilty of insurance fraud, multiple times. Dr. Kiet Do is a wonderful dentist whom I have know for MANY years. He is extremely caring and puts you at ease. He has an excellent bedside manner and truly looks out for your best both in finances and your dental health. He will let you know of things to keep in mind for the future, work that may need to be done, and things that are more urgent. I unfortunately left after 6 years with this group. I have amazing insurance coverage through work and unfortunately they were abusing it. In a 6 year period they replaced every filling they put in my mouth at least once every two years. I'm fortunate to only have 1 wisdom tooth and am missing the rest....they pressured me to remove it EVERY time I was there saying it was just going to rot. My family has been seeing Dr. Do for quite a few years and we have always had exceptional service. He's fantastic and great with our children as well!
Most recently my eldest chipped one of her front teeth, practically in half! She hit a nerve and was in pain. The front office staff were excellent and quick to get her in immediately. Dr. Do did a stellar job of making a temporary crown until her permanent replacement came in.

I'm so happy I found Dr. Do! He's by far the best dentist I've ever had. He's friendly, professional and he takes his time. He's honest and won't push anything on you that you don't actually need done.
He removed all my wisdom teeth for me two years ago. I was nervous but Dr. Do is so good, that it was easy and not painful at all. My recovery time was quick and I had no swelling. This year he did all my fillings and I'm so happy with the work he's done. I've had no discomfort and he even showed me before and after pictures of the work.

I had my first treatment at this dentist last night, and I will be back!
Pros:
- They fit me in after 7PM. Because this dentiist is in Brentwood Mall, they keep mall hours. Who doesn't enjoy that?!
- They work 7 days a week (love those mall hours!)
- They give you a printed copy of the estimate for the work they will be doing for the appointment so you know before anything is done exactly what it's going to cost you. This has never happened to me before at a dental office.

I'm very disappointed with this dental clinic. Between my partner and I we have 120% coverage. After four years of maximizing everything I needed fixed, cavities, old fillings removed, etc. Rocky and Dr. Virk decided to peruse my gradual but steady gum disease. This was pretty much established 4 years ago.

I come here because I live in the neighborhood. My hygienist is Rocky and he has successfully done what no other dentist or hygienist could do....get me to floss. Not just regularly but daily! Because of him I've become a twice a day flosser.
I also had to come in for a minor emergency for loose teeth due to a sports injury (mouth guards are important!). They were extremely good about squeezing me in on a very busy day and I was seen quickly.
