Over priced. No flavour. Not fresh. The ginger beef was breaded tiny pieces and a big disappointment. Trace amounts of shrimp in the fried rice and minimal chicken in the chow mein. Not sure how this place has so many many high reviews with the many other Chinese food restaurants in Vancouver. Definitely save your money.

It's a very bad day. I feel completely cheated and disrespected. I ordered a Beijing roast duck by telephone, including roast duck + 12 rolls + side dishes + sauce, about 45.99. I think 12 rolls may not be enough, so I bought another 12 rolls 10.99, which cost 60.16 in total. This price is above the average for a whole roast duck. The results showed that there were only 12 pieces of roast duck！Why photos and objects not match? When I order extra 12 more rolls, why dont you tell me it's not the whole duck but only 12 pieces of duck. The manger explained to us that we don't understand

The service is pretty fast compared to some other places. The is great though , the ginger beef here is a must and lemon chicken is good too. The chow mien is never overcooked. DO NOT LISTEN TO THE OTHER THE FOOD IS ALSO SEVERED HOT. P.S I do not know the owners of the place, so this a honest review.

It's okay. Very expensive. Did delivery one night and they added a tip for driver. They used their own driver. When he came he asked my husband for another tip! Cheeky. Anyways we went back into the restaurant for sit down and again average food and very pricey. Didn't realize it was the same restaurant until we seen the menu and noticed the prices. Had a funky smell in the restaurant. Moldy? Not sure but we probably won't be back. Service was pretty good considering we were the only one in there. Just ordered takeout from this place for the first time last night, after nearly a year of driving past it. Have to say the husband and I were pleasantly surprised.
We ordered the chicken chow mein, steamed rice, General Tao chicken, and ginger beef. Portions were generous, especially with the noodles - we ate our fill last night and easily have enough for dinner again tonight. Everything was very nice, fresh, and flavourful. Ginger and Soy is an excellent neighborhood Chinese restaurant in Ambleside. Don't let the nondescript and small exterior fool you as food here is of very high quality. The chef here knows exactly what he or she is doing.
I came here for lunch for the first time and just ordered some dishes I know very well and tried often at other places. I ordered hot and sour soup for myself and wonton soup for my wife. For meal we shared a braised tofu with mushrooms and bokchoy and a house chowmein with soft noodles. Very standard dishes.

Didn't expect this level of quality food, but we were pleasantly surprised! My wife had the "Lemon Chicken" and I had the "Spicy Ginger Beef". Wow. It was fresh, hot, tasty, and memorable! Staff were super friendly and efficient.

I went to Ginger and Soy on Christmas Eve. It was open, and a great choice!
The BBQ duck and cumin lamb were both delicious - especially the succulent and delicious duck! I will go back, if in the area.

We were in the neighbourhood, so we stopped by for lunch today. We have been disappointed by so many Chinese food restaurants recently because everything tastes the same. Not here! We started with won ton soup, which came out hot and tasty! The won tons had juicy shrimp and a pork filling in them. Next were the spring rolls, served with a deliciously different plum sauce. Best. Place. Ever. "Hong Kong Style" So good !!!!!! This place has the best fried rice. Portions were so large so no need to order a lot. Mushroom chicken, chicken fried rice, vegetable fried rice, and chicken spring rolls are so good! The noodles looks fantastic, but we did not order. Anyone wanting good chinese, come here !! We had dinner here last night. OMG. It was awesome. I love spicy food and almost never eat Chinese food without hot sauce. Not this time. No hot sauce was needed. The food was fresh and extremely savory. The spice would have just killed the flavors. From the Steamed Talapia, Hoisin Eggplant to the Hoisin Tofu with Pork. Everything was fresh with minimal oil. And the personal service was top notch. The servers were extremely knowledgeable about their offerings and very friendly. It all made our dinner a very memorable one.

Customer service is excellent! Portions are actually very big so nice to take home and have later. My corn soup was just right, not overwhelming and great size for small order. Also ordered Peking duck, did not expect to see such a big plate which amazes me because like many other restaurants you only get so much and ginger and soy had also had meat with this dish. Would of preferred the crepe to be just a bit thinner. Jelly fish was on point but a bit too spicy for my gf who had dinner with me. But I'm glad there was no sand residue of fishy taste.
