Services
Mississippi Golf Club is an 18-hole, semi-private golf course located on 190 acres overlooking the picturesque Mississippi River. Established in 1915 on the former Patterson Farm in Appleton, just five kilometres east of Carleton Place, Mississippi Golf Club is one of the oldest clubs in Ontario. Mississippi began as a nine-hole course, with a second nine - designed by the renowned golf course architect Graham Cooke - added in 1987.
In spring and fall we will experience playing delays due to frost. When a frost occurs, the course management will put a notification on the daily tee sheet indicating this and there will be a delay in tee times. On these mornings, play will not start until the frost on the grass has melted, as in spring and fall frost appears on the longer grass before the greens.
Mississippi has a modern, fully air conditioned club house with all the amenities you should expect at a semi-private golf club. We are fully licensed both in the club house and on the playing area of the golf course and offer complete food service. Our dining room is very bright with windows overlooking the golf course and is large enough to handle events up to 160 people.
Our main banquet hall will comfortably hold 135 people with space for a few more. There is a million dollar view overlooking the golf course and the picturesque Mississippi River. If you are looking for a location to host your golf tournament, Mississippi Golf Club is the place to start. We can accommodate tournaments from 32 to 144 players. Played the course today. I have played numerous courses this year and by far and away the Mississippi is in gorgeous shape. The tee boxes are level, the fairways beautifully cut the greens spectacular. The layout is challenging . If you have it on your bucket list then I suggest this course must be played! The staff led by Dan Kolar are friendly and courteous. They offer a price break after 1pm. Have a great time at Mississippi.

I've been booking my tee off times as soon as they become available (early in the week) for the weekend. In the case of Mississippi Golf, they don't take on-line booking so I called on Tuesday and booked a spot for 2 on Saturday ad 8:52. I asked the guy if he needed anything else, he said you are good. Weekend weather was perfect and we were looking forward to our early start on the course.
I arrived at 8:30 only to find out we did not have a tee-off time in the morning as it is for members only. Apparently for non-members it's a lottery and they slotted us in at 3:15 that afternoon. When I booked

Played in a 4 some walking and played the front nine in 2:15 and let a group play through just to be greeted rudely by a marshal saying we were too slow and needed to speed up, and that they had multiple complaints. Give me a break! 4 people walking playing a 6300 yard course playing in under 4.5 hrs should not be a big deal especially when we let groups play through and never had a complaint to our face. I will never play this course again. For a course that prides itself on condition, it was awful. Not worth $20 let alone $50

Looking forward to the 2017 golfing season! I've played the Mississippi for many years and have always enjoyed this challenging but often forgiving course. The staff is super friendly and the course is very well maintained. I highly recommend it for those Ottawa residents looking for a day out in the country.
