I am a Registered Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults. I have expertise in the assessment and treatment of a wide variety of issues including attention and behaviour problems, learning problems, autism spectrum disorders, social-emotional problems, and giftedness.
My experience within Alberta Health Services has provided me with the skills to work with individuals with complex presentations. In terms of assessment, I follow best practice guidelines for the diagnosis of developmental, behavioural, and learning problems. I gather information from parents and teachers as well as conducting direct assessments with children, adolescents, and/or young adults.

I view the assessment process as a puzzle - putting the pieces together to gain the best understanding of your child/adolescent, or for yourself as a young adult. Assessments involve identifying individual strengths and weaknesses and determining how to use strengths to bolster weaknesses. The therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in therapy; thus, it is crucial that you feel like the "fit" is a good one.
Completion by parents of a developmental history as well as clinical rating scales as required. Approximately 4 hours of direct assessment (typically conducted over two separate sessions) including a measure to identify cognitive strengths and weaknesses and a measure to determine academic progress.
Most companies have extended health care insurance plans that provide full or partial coverage of psychological services. Insurance companies are not billed directly, but detailed invoices and receipts are provided so that you may seek additional coverage for your expenses. Families are encouraged to obtain information directly from their insurance companies regarding extent of coverage.
