Christian Dreisinger purchased the undertaking business from Charles Ruppel in 1905. The Ruppel family had included undertaking as a service offered alongside their furniture business as far back as 1878. In 1905, Christian Dreisinger operated out of his home on Cross Street in Elmira.
In 1906, he bought the Wachsmuth Block at the intersection of Church and Arthur Streets in downtown Elmira, moved his undertaking business in and also established a retail furniture store.A two-storey addition was constructed in 1912. A garage was added in the late 1930s and the building was remodeled in 1940, creating the first funeral chapel in the area.

Becky is one of the owners, and the managing director at the Dreisinger Funeral Home. She first joined Dreisingers to assist with administration, and quickly discovered an enthusiasm for funeral service.
Becky then attended Humber College to obtain her funeral director's licence, where she was the recipient of the Dodge Award for Restorative Arts, the Foundation 45 Award, the John Finn Memorial award, and the Funeral Service Association of Canada Scholarship.Following her schooling, Becky returned to Dreisingers to serve the community as a licensed director with Monty and Grace, until purchasing the funeral home with Laura in 2020.

No matter if a death is sudden or expected, the loss of a loved one makes us feel emotional and overwhelmed. No amount of preparation can fully prepare you for the loss of a loved one. When you are in a heightened emotional state, even the most basic decisions can seem staggering. The following is a guideline of what needs to be done within the first 24 hours after death.
Traditionally, a burial service involves a visitation, followed by a funeral service. The casket is typically present at both these events, and it is your decision on whether to have the casket open or closed. You have the option of having the remains interred, (earth burial), or entombed in a crypt inside a mausoleum, (above ground burial).
Giving a meaningful, moving eulogy can be a nerve-wracking situation for even the most accomplished public speaker, but it need not be. How can you summarize somebody's life in a few short minutes, while being both somber and funny at the same time? Writing and delivering a eulogy is a therapeutic tool to help deal with your grief, and being chosen to give a eulogy is an honour and should be treated that way.

Our family had a very great experiance working with the very kind and caring staff at the Dreisinger Funeral Home. The staff was accommodating to the unique cultural and religious aspects of our Father's funeral this past week.
Everyone we encountered was extremely professional and kind and they made the whole experiance much easier to get through. This is not something one would experiance dealing with on a regular basis, so their understanding of the funeral process, their patience and kindness was extremely welcomed and appreciated by our family.

We looked at a few funeral homes and chose Dreisinger because they were so open and accepting to our needs. We are incredibly thankful for they're support throughout the entire funeral process, they were so accommodating to our needs and made the entire process super easy, they took care of everything. The entire staff was friendly and supportive, we could not have asked for anything more from them. Highly recommend this place.

I was disappointed with the coldness of the gentleman helping us with our death. I felt he was all business and wanted to get through all the paperwork as soon as possible. I know he has done this so many times that he can't possibly be phased by it, but please, show some compassion!! I can only think that because this is the only funeral home in miles that they can get away with this...
