Services
The funeral home is an important part of any community. In addition to providing a variety of necessary services to the community such as burial services, cremation services, memorial services and celebrations of life, funeral homes also serve as resources for those grieving the loss of a loved one.
It was early spring, in 1933, when my father, Gilbert MacIntyre, opened the doors of his funeral parlour on Quebec Street, Guelph. He was only 23 years old but he knew even then that this is what he wanted to do. He also ran an ambulance service out of the same location. In 1938, the Dublin Street house was purchased, and our family lived upstairs.
Funeral Services Throughout history, burial has been a common practice in human communities, large and small; around the world. Learn more about burial, the burial services we offer, as well as the basic components of a traditional funeral service in this section of our website. Cremation Services Are you curious about the cremation process?
When it comes time to care for a deceased loved one, you may feel overwhelmed and confused about the next steps and options. Our funeral home staff members are here and ready to help. Whether you'd like a funeral or a more creative celebration of life, we can assist you to select the funeral service options that hold the most meaning for you and your family.
Please feel free to visit the Rockwood Conservation Area, at 161 Fall St, Rockwood, Ontario, to see your loved one's name inscribed on the kiosk. The kiosk is located in the Family Memorial Area within the park. The Rockwood Conservation Area is located just off Hwy. 7 in its namesake village, mid-way between Guelph and Acton.

Services provided for my Aunt’s funeral were really professional. I misplaced my COVID face mask and the staff promptly gave me a new one after they noticed I was without.
We all wish we wouldn’t need to have funeral parlours but it’s a part of life we all go through and is a relief when those services are handled by good people. Thank You.

My Dad being married for 68 years to Mum, and then becoming a widower, creates very stressful times. Gilbert Macintyre took away our concerns and anxiety through the entire process and allowed us to remember Mum peacefully. Very considerate and thoughtful staff.

It is never a good way to meet people, or discover an excellence in customer care and compassion... but that exactly how I would describe my experience with both Norm and Jason from Gilbery Macintyre. It is a difficult time, laying someone of significance in your life, and having had the opportunity to be a customer of these two, made closure and peace possible form my loved ones. Norm did an excellent job explaining what at the time seems so complex and overwhelming, with knowledge, experience and most importantly compassion. Thank you for doing such a great job helping prepare and remember a
