Since 1984 the Essentials Spa of Hamilton team has been providing clients with superior aesthetic and skin care services. We were originally known as the Village Spa and were located in Hess Village.
Although we have moved to a new location on Duke Street and have undergone a name change, we still continue the same tradition of providing a positive and relaxing spa experience to our clients, many of which who have continued to enjoy our services for over 30 years.Our clients become a part of our family and we value their support and referrals.

De-stressing Relaxation Massage is practiced in a gentle professional manner to help relieve stress. A luxurious body scrub with essential oils and sugar. Your entire body is exfoliated and cocooned in a heated body wrap, finishing with a body moisturizer, leaving your skin feeling soft and glowing.
Essentials Spa invites you to experience one of our result-driven facials. We being with a consultation to determine which treatment(s) is right for you and your skin. As with all skin care programs, it is best to continue with a series of treatments for optimum results. We would be happy to offer our clients discount pricing for multiple treatments.
Includes nail shaping, cuticle trimming, moisturizing hand massage and polish application. This manicure hydrates and heals dry, cracked and arthritic hands. Includes a full manicure, a warm paraffin dip and heated hand mitts to create a deep moisturizing action. Hand massage and choice of polish complete this service.
Why shave and tweeze when you can enjoy the long lasting benefits of body waxing hair removal and enjoy weeks of bare, smooth skin. At Essentials Spa we offer a wide variety of body waxing services using natural plant based waxes, essential oils and soothing ingredients to give you the smoothest of hair removal results.

I have been a regular client at Essentials Spa for more than 30 years. My years of loyalty should convey to all that this spa is exceptional as I am very fussy about my manicures and pedicures. Once I find an aesthetic service that ticks off all the boxes - cleanliness, skill, service and ambiance, there is absolutely no need to try another. In 30 years, I can think of only one dissatisfaction. It was with a pedicure - I contacted Barb, the owner, who asked me to come right back in, and she, herself, redid two of my toes. I have recommended this spa without hesitation to my friends.

I love going to see Barb and her staff! when I want to pamper myself and relax.
I love to get mani/pedis and have had my make up done for weddings ( and had many comments about how awesome it looks).
Staff is friendly, good at what they do, the spa is very clean , you will NOT be disappointed ! lots of packages for special occasions .. I have bought gift certs for friends and family who have ended up going back for more !
do something nice for yourself ... go see Barb today! like...now..

Well so much for the glowing review I wrote months ago. I tried to rebook for an even smaller group at a date months in advance. (leaving for a family vacation in Europe) I was told twice that the owner would have to get back to me and after two weeks of waiting booked at Buffed in Westdale. When I first attempted to book I was told that they did not have the staff to handle the booking. Since there was so much time before the booking one does wonder about who hires with service in mind. The second call told me that there was a booking that mean our group of three could not be there together. If

I have been going to Essentials, formerly Village Spa for over 20 years. The service has always been professional and friendly. Elaine, the receptionist, has been there for more than 20 years and helps to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I go to the owner Barb for my services and she is outstanding. I wouldn’t think of going anywhere else. They are one of the best aesthetics businesses and also one of the longest lasting businesses in Hamilton, serving a very loyal client base. I would highly recommend them!!!
