Salt Spring Island Golf & Country
Sadly, our beautiful restaurant is now closed due to the ongoing crisis of staff shortages. The Club hopes to re-open the restaurant at some point in the future. Due to the HIGH fire rating and dry course conditions in the fescue and surrounding areas, we have implemented a NO SMOKING policy on the Salt Spring Island Golf Club property, including the golf course and driving range.

This is a temporary measure until the fire risk is significantly reduced. It is our top priority that our golf course, neighborhood and surrounding community stays safe throughout these very dry months and we appreciate your ongoing support and cooperation. Masks will be mandatory in all areas inside the Club House.
Services
The Salt Spring Island Golf Club was established in 1928 by residents eager to have a course on the island. Before regular ferry service, reaching one of the three golf courses on lower Vancouver Island was a near impossibility for Salt Spring islanders.

As one of the oldest courses in western British Columbia, and the longest operating course in the Southern Gulf Islands, the golf course exemplifies Salt Spring Island's transition from agricultural outpost to a recreational and retirement haven. The natural terrain from its days as Barnsbury, a sheep farm, are fundamental to the course.
The Salt Spring Island Golf Course is a beautiful, modestly challenging 9-hole, 3037 yard, par 36 course of undulating fairways, water features and mature forests, with the north east slopes of Mount Erskine providing the backdrop to many holes. Consisting of two par 5 holes, two par 3 holes and the remainder par 4's, the course covers 70 acres of rolling terrain.
At the Salt Spring Island Golf Club, our Dress Code goes like this. For golf, smart casual is all we ask and we are a soft spike facility. For the disc course, more casual attire is acceptable. For both courses, jeans are acceptable on the course and in the clubhouse. Tank tops, mid-riff or halter tops are not allowed for women; muscle shirts or tank tops are not allowed for men.
Welcome to the Salt Spring Island Golf Club and thank you for considering a membership - we're glad you're here. Our Club is much more than golf, it's about people. Ask anyone who plays the course and they will tell you about the friendly, welcoming atmosphere and the great relationships they have made through their Salt Spring Island Golf Club membership.
Cameron Fergusson is now part of our teaching staff, offering one on one and group lessons to beginner and developing player abilities. Cam is working to become a CPGA Professional. He is the son of a teaching professional and is revisiting his roots of playing competitive golf through his junior years and learning from his father as he managed various courses including SSIGC in the 80's and 90's.

Used the facilities for the driving range, rented the clubs. Facility was clean, staff friendly and the range was good. They were in the process of constructing nice looking Tee boxes.

What a fantastic course and fantastic restaurant. One of the best experiences I have had. Everyone from the Pro Shop to the Staff at Fairways Bar & Grill was amazing. Even if you do not play golf, you can always enjoy hitting a few golf balls at the driving range!

Eclectic mix of artisans, bakers, boutique stores, trendy coffee shops, health stores, and delectable eateries. Not to mention beautiful scenery, nature walks, lakes and wonderful options for dog owners. A fabulous little town with so much to offer. Even in winter!

Delicious food, great service. Tons of gluten free options. The turkey soup was sooooo good, and filling, I barely had room for my lovely gluten free breakfast bun. The view is also beautiful, and there is lots of parking. Bonus, if you golf, it's on the golf course!
