Kenzen Karate

Kenzen is a beginner friendly karate club and we welcome newcomers to try a free trial class anytime. Our club is a warm dojo community with both male and female instructors, where members get stronger and more focused through practical karate and fitness training. To enhance everyone's karate experiences, the club hosts numerous karate events and tournaments, plus regularly receives guest instructors from around Canada and Japan.

Samurai Kids Karate is our beginner-friendly FUNdamental karate program! Help your child lay the foundation for an active life by trying out one of the most kid-friendly sports on the planet! Members gain confidence and feel as strong as a samurai as they build their karate skills, improve their ability to focus on the instructor and interact well with their dojo classmates.

The club's After School Karate Program is a dynamic coaching service for members who have big karate goals like challenging the junior 1st degree black belt exam in the future, or competing on Team Kenzen at local tournaments, or eventually trying out for the Karate BC Team. Regular Kenzen members who thrive on daily karate training may apply to join the After School Karate program.

Our Pro-D day camps and spring/summer break karate camps are open to Students in grades 1 to 7, for kids new to karate as well as those with experience! FREE UNIFORM to any non-Kenzen member participating in a 5-day camp for the first time! Drop-off & pick-up: Drop off starts from 8:30am for Pro-D day camps, 12:30pm for spring break camps.

Let's celebrate Kenzen's 7th anniversary together with the return of our traditional format Club Tournament! Kenzen's club tournament is a fantastic introduction to the feel of karate competition in a fun, familiar and encouraging environment. ALL participants are guaranteed medals, and a special prize is awarded to best male and best female athletes!
