Before 358 Dupont was established as Eight Branches Academy of Eastern Medicine and Healing Arts Centre, it was Kokoro Dojo - a peaceful sanctuary tucked behind the residences and busy storefronts in the heart of the Annex. Kokoro Dojo was a Zen Shiatsu school focused on the teachings of Shizuto Masunaga.
We're an academy of Eastern Medicine that specializes in teaching the ancient practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and making it relevant in the modern world through capable and confident graduates. Your student experience includes a balance of in-depth theory and extensive hands-on practice, and your education with us is comprehensive- based on eight foundational branches of Eastern Medicine.

When trying to decide between educational institutions, we emphatically advise that you visit the prospective school's campus in order to get a feel for the environment. Your intuition will help determine if the atmosphere is positive, and inspires the right conditions for your educational growth and development.
Eight Branches houses an extensive apothecary containing raw Chinese herbs, granules and patents. Our students can find a comfortable chair for quiet moments in the herb apothecary. We have also installed a student kitchen next to our apothecary - to encourage the preparation and tasting of food for our nutrition classes and herbs in our herbology classes.

Experience was fantastic! The professional there are wonderful. Front desk staff is extremely friendly and helpful. TCM professional are beyond expected! The whole place is impeccably clean and the atmosphere is peaceful. The acupuncturist Maria treated me today and it was amazing. I am very happy and totally satisfied!

I went to Eight Branches for an acupuncture treatment.
The clinic appears clean, attractive and very organized, and the receptionist is charming and helpful.
Treatment areas are clean and comfortable.
The consultation with Wendy was extremely thorough, I felt I was in very capable hands. She answered my questions, and took plenty of time with me.
The acupuncture treatment was relaxing overall, some very mild discomfort which I expected, and certainly manageable.
I felt perfectly fine after the treatment. The following day I slept for two extra hours and felt tired, which I understand can happen

I’ve been coming to Eight Branches for years. My stress levels decrease as soon as I enter the space.
It’s my favourite safe space. The staff are super professional, knowledgeable, non judgmental, patient and kind. I’ve tried all the treatments acupuncture, herbs, cupping, moxa, and tuina - effective treatments that have always made me feel SO much better, without toxic side effects. I am so grateful to everyone at Eight Branches for their healing & support. This teaching clinic is a rare precious gem. 🙏🏽💕🙏🏽

I've never gone for student treatments, just gone to see regular practioners at this clinic. i've gone for both acupuncture and shiatsu massage. In which case, cost is more than student-run, but still very reasonable I think compared to many other places. The practioners there are excellent, so knowledgeable and intuitive and treat all sorts of issues. Very comfortable, professional, and relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend a visit, especially if you are struggling with some sort of issue and not sure what can be done about it. I think they can help or point you in the right direction

I don't have extended health benefits, so when I found out about Eight Branches, I hot tailed my butt there. Eight Branches has a teaching clinic that treats clients. Because it's a school, there is usually 3 people residing over your treatment (1 primary and 2 secondaries). You'll be asked a lot of questions about your health and any issues you have. They then leave for about 5 minutes deciding how to treat you.
