Preston Dental is a calibrated dentist office, which means regardless of which dentist you see, your treatment plan remains the same. The options we provide, the preventative treatment we advise on, and the education we administer is standardized across dentists. At Preston Dental, we act as a team, and our patients know they can trust each dentist's approach, even if their usual dentist is away.
At Preston Dental Centre we practice general dentistry that focuses on total oral health and a comprehensive full mouth approach. Our focus is on why your dental issues may be occurring, and then not only working on a variety of options to treat the current concern, but create a preventative treatment plan to address the root of the problem.
Digital Smile Design, or DSD, is a digital technology that allows us to communicate and involve patients in the design of their new smile. This process allows us to design and create a smile with a patient's feedback. It also allows patients to understand the steps involved in creating their new smile, while giving them visual feedback of the final result.
Do you think your teeth look short? Do you feel like more of your gingiva shows than your teeth, creating a "gummy" smile? Are uneven gums creating lopsidedness in your teeth? If so, adjusting the shape and length of your gums using recontouring can provide significant results. When you expose more of your white tooth enamel, it helps your smile look fuller, brighter, and overall healthier.

Dr Karen McDonald just saw me last minute notice when my temporary cap for my tooth fell off last night. She saw me on a Saturday morning because she happened to there interviewing candidates for employment. she answered and had me come in for 10 minute fix that really was amazing. Thanks Dr, and wanted to say your practice is always friendly and amazing.

I have a lot of anxiety issues, especially about going to the dentist. Dr Karen MacDonald has been my dentist for over two decades and I can not imagine a better experience. All her hygienists are exceptional and excellent at listening to concerns of patients. They’ve made my dental appointments comfortable and calming. My children are also patients. Highly recommend. Extremely clean and covid cautious as well.

Wonderful experience every time I go to Preston Dental Centre. Dr. Bain is very thorough and very diligent about explaining every part of the process. She is very deft and all procedures I’ve had thus far have entailed the absolute minimum in discomfort. Jen (hygienist) is my absolute favourite!! She does an incredible job and my dental health has improved leaps and bounds since working with her. Highly highly recommend both practitioners!!

I always have a great experience at Preston Dental! Staff is super friendly and helpful and the hygienists always ensure that I am comfortable. I am especially impressed with the steps taken to keep patients safe during the pandemic. I would recommend this dental office to anyone living in this area of Ottawa!

I have been a client of Dr. Karen MacDonald since shortly after I moved to Ottawa in 1993, and I've always been very happy with her manner and her treatment. She was great with helping me through my back-to-school years when I needed fillings replaced, doing the ones that really needed to be done each visit, and telling me which ones could wait.
