Grand Pizzeria & Bar

First time being in Ottawa with a group of friends and we all want here. Everyone enjoyed their meals specially me, the Shrimp Linguine was very delicious and I could possibly eat this all the time! The service was great and the atmosphere was nice as well. I’ll definitely come back again when I’m in the area!

Great restaurant for Italian flavours. The staff is hospitable and positive. The queue outside the restaurant was long but luckily they checked smaller groups (like my wife and me) and we got a table quickly.
We ordered a pizza and pasta. The pizza was wood fired and it was amazing. The dough, sauce and the vegetables were of a great quality. Kudos to the chef 🧑‍🍳 for the awesome pizza.
The pasta on the other hand has some scope for improvement. The rigatoni should have been boiled for a few minutes longer since it was crunch. The chicken needed some additional flavour. I would suggest

Wanted to bring my wife here, stopped by earlier in the day patio is winterized and it seemed closed so we went back to our hotel with the intent of returning later in the day, Upon our return trip it was either here wings or this amazing place with their good Pizza or amazing Sambuca shrimp. This review and it's rating has nothing to do with the food. By all means if you are vaccinated, the food is worth it but this is for my unvaccinated people, they will treat you like a 2nd class citizen. I waited 15 minutes for them to come out, then we called again, waited a bit longer alas No service

One of our favourite places and a must to visit when we come to Ottawa. Service has always been excellent as well as food quality/taste. It's usually busy (which is a good thing) - we've had to wait on some occasions (usually during peak business hours) and other times we got seated right away. Food pricing is on par for what you getting (imo). Thank you again for another awesome visit, looks forward to the next! 😃 Also, make sure to take home a jar of their homemade hot sauce! 🔥

Stopped here for a late supper. Excellent service, delicious food, and pet friendly! We were able to bring our dog to the patio table which made life a lot easier. And their red sangria is amazing, FYI.

It was an amazing experience. The food was delicious and my first bite remind me my Italy trip and original tasteful Italian oven pizza. Service was great and so helpful stuff working there. Love the place because they have unique hot sauce and bought one jar of it ($6). It could be the best homemade hot sauce ever. We got our table without waiting. I would definitely recommend you to go there and have some great food with your family and friends.

Absolutely loveeee their pizzas, pastas and the meatballs in marinara sauce. It was so delicious and great flavours. Quality of food and the overall experience was great!! Thank you so much for serving wonderful food in our community :)

Always great food, pizza crust is perfectly chard, love the patio as it's always inviting. I'm a regular, my go to place when I host meetings with clients. Staff is always friendly, service is on time and impeccable!

Super helpful staff.. We ordered for two pizza, some nachos and two kind of deserts (Tiramisu and Affogato) together. We got the appetizers really fast. While waiting for the pizza we realized we had to leave really fast if we were to make to our next attraction for river cruise. We requested the staff to pack the pizza for takeout and get our deserts fast. They were super helpful, got our pizza in minutes gave our deserts in a short time as well. Both were really awesome.

Went for dinner here on a Saturday night. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with a good menu of apps, pizzas, and pastas. I ordered the Rigatoni Al Pollo which came with crispy bacon in a cream sauce. The portions are large and good for sharing. Friendly staff! One of the dishes we ordered came out later than the rest of our meals; however, they did discount the item on our bill to make up for the inconvenience. Overall, a great kid-friendly, family friendly restaurant with a bustling ambiance.

Quick to get a table. Server was friendly and great. Pizzas are pricey but really good. I recommend the Sofia (vegetarian, goat cheese, sun dried tomato), Tuscan chicken and Mercato (arugula/prosciutto)pizzas. Appetizers are decent.

Decided to try this Italian places. The ssltaff itself does a good job, service isn't amazing but good, which is ok.

Tried the cauliflower bites appetizers. There were correctly coated and cooked. The little dipping sauce that they're served with really matched well. We really enjoyed them.

As for the pizza, I tried the Italian pepperoni pizza. I don't know if there's sauce in the pizza, I couldn't taste it if there was. The pizza itself is ok but very salty, like everything is full of salt from the crust to the toppings. It's not the worst pizza I've eaten

Overpriced generally but the pizza is very good.
We got The Grand and ingredients were nicely seasoned and worked well together.

This restaurant was super busy and Felt like a bit of a tourist trap price wise. Salad we got was super tiny for $10.

I would skip the apps and just order pizza. Pastas are pricey too.

The garlic bread here is a must eat..beautifully presented and had a great taste.
Another thing which my fiancee really loved was their minestrone soup. Mildly spicy and great dish for a windy evening.
Pair it with a chardonnay and it will bring out the flavour even more.
The tuscan chicken pizza was a little bland and wasn't properly even cut..we struggled a lot with the blunt knifes.
But overall a great place for a regular date night

Our server (Nick D) was amazing! Such a good experience back after the lockdown. He told us it was his first serving shift and we would have never known he was so good!

I was recommended this spot by a friend who makes the cheese for their vegan pizza. I was in town for work and was excited to try it.

After having some disappointing take-out (I wound up with white rice, boiled unseasoned vegetables, without any sauce TWICE at places with a 'veg' option) I decided to go all out and order UberEats to my airbnb.

I got the vegan pizza, the vegan ravioli, and a container of the signature hotsauce. I was starving from my involuntary diet of bland food and desperately needed carbs and flavour.

Myself and two others went here for a late lunch around 3PM for happy hour. We shared a pitcher of white sangria, a family sized Rigatoni Al Pollo Pasta, and a Carbonara pizza.

Taste 5/5: Everything was delicious! The pasta had a nice creamy sauce, and was very generous with the amount of chicken in the pasta. Loved the pizza as well, especially the thin crust. Would definitely order these again. The sangria was good, although would've been better if fruit was added.

Price to Portion 4/5: The portion of the pizza was good for the price ($21.99), could definitely just be shared by 1-2 people

This was for me a highlight of my summer during the pandemic. They have excellent outdoor seating, servers and costumers wear mask. BEST pizza I have had in Gatineau Ottawa. Nobody else even comes close. We got the pepperoni pizza and had to order another it was that good. Enjoy!

We weren't expecting much coming in but was wow-ed by the delicious hand-made pizza and pasta!

We ordered the Pappardelle alla Grand (porcini mushroom, sausage, truffle oil, cream sauce - highly recommend) and the Quattro Formaggi (mozzarella, provolone, Parmesan, smoked mozzarella - delicious) and really enjoyed both!

They have a Market Hour special from 3-6pm and 9pm-close which includes halfpriced pizzas, and specials on some drinks (see photo).

Been here a couple of times and I always feel that it is 'fine'. The pizza are better than the pasta in my opinion. The menu is extensive so lots of options. I think this place is better for a big group - get a few pizzas and a pasta or two. The service is good and quick which is a positive. I guess I just always think of it as fine. Fine.

Not a bad spot for a good pie and easy to get to if you are already at the CF Rideau Mall or the Byward Market in Ottawa as they are just located between both venues. This is my second time here and from what I remember the first time about 3 years ago that they have great pies. This time it was fairly busy and there was a small wait for our group of 7, luckily most people want to sit in the patio as it was a really nice day. We were seated in a booth shortly after and our server was there right away to take our drink order, we basically bombed her with our order because we needed to hit the road

This is our second time eating at The Grand located beside the Byward Market in Ottawa downtown. The food and service were phenomenonal although it was super busy for a Saturday dinner at 7pm. Initially we wanted to try something new as there were quite a few groups in line ahead of us. However the wait for our table of 6 only took 5 mins as there was a large seating area (inside or on the patio). We stopped in here based on a recommendation from a local and we were not disappointed. We were seated on the patio quick with a great view of Byward market. Our waitress was super friendly and gave us her recommendations for the best pizzas on the menu.
We ordered a pitcher of white wine sangria (amazing)
and the spicy divola(sp?) pizza. Pizza was also great.

It was around $70 for a pizza and pitcher with tax and tip which I guess is pretty standard for real Italian food.

We stumbled on The Grand Pizzeria at 4:30ish during their "Market Hours" 3 to 6, when pizzas are half-price, Kichesippi Beer and house red and white wines are $5, and Sangria pitchers are $20. Score!

Their pizzas are in the classic Napoletana style and are wood-fired. Simply put, Napoletana style requires fresh ingredients FROM ITALY.

The taste is amazing. I had their Pesto: basil pesto, bufala mozzarella, and cherry tomatoes. Not overpowering ... the perfect mix to taste Pesto but not smell like it! My wife's Calvini, mozzarella and Italian sausage, was also superb.

I just love this place! I had a mercato pizza that had arugula, prosciutto and Parmesan, it was delicious and perfectly made!
The waiter was super attentive and the place is very decent.
I really recommend this place, the brick oven really makes the difference.

I went here during a Saturday afternoon with some friends to celebrate a birthday. The servers there were extremely accommodating, understanding, attentive and nice. I really enjoyed the experience of just being there. On a busy Saturday evening they were able to accommodate a table of 6 of us, move around a bunch of tables and let us sit outside on the patio to enjoy the Byward market.

The beers were good and the service was prompt. It is a great spot to people watch and enjoy the view.

I ordered my pizza with a raw egg yolk and it was delicious. It was a very thin crust, which I'm not

I had supper tonight at the Grand Pizzeria & Bar in ByWard Market.

They cook their pizzas in a wood oven. I love love love pizzas and ordered a Meat Lovers pizza. It lived up to its name as it had a lot of meat. They make their pizzas in the Napoli tradition and put fresh prosciutto on top after the pizza comes out of the oven. I wasn't crazy about it. Once I took it off, it was a delicious pizza.
