There are not very many places in the city where you can go and watch your pizza being baked in an actual Italian wood-burning oven.
The different types of wood, whether it is cherry, apple or pine lends its own unique flavour to your pizza. With such a unique oven, we decided there must be gourmet style toppings to add to your pizza in order to bring out the wonderful firewood flavour. Pizza in a real fire-burning oven. I just moved in the neighbourhood and could not be happier to found this place a block away. Delicious and quite unique. This place lives and breathes great pizza, pure and simple. Really more of a takeout joint churning out some of the finest thin-crust creations around.

My favourite pizza in a neighbourhood with quite a few choices! The crust is relatively thin so I feel healthy (as healthy as I can, when ordering pizza), and they have a wonderful selection of toppings ... sometimes with the trendy pizzarias I can't actually find something I like (it's got white sauce, or it's fennel sausage, or there are peppers, etc.) but for some reason Firewood's recipes simply agree with me, and I'm spoiled for choice.
Service is always courteous and pizzas are made promptly. It's not really a dine-in place (even pre-Covid) but order your pizza

Just discovered this little pizza place and we were very impressed with their food and service. We've tried the thai inspired pizza (which is my favourite) and the ground beef with cilantro pizza so far. I was curious about the beef and the owner/manager was kind to let me sample before we ordered the pizza which is something you don't find often in busy places. The beef was excellent and the pizza was of course exceptional as expected!

Recently tried out this pizza joint along my venture to Vancouver and this place has some fantastic ingredients and flavours you don't often see around. Some of the unique toppings and sauce in their menu includes pine nuts, zucchini, smoked Gouda, almonds, and Thai peanut sauce! Aside from their our selected pizza menu you can also created your own. For a large pizza gig can choose up to 6 toppings and they are generous with the toppings! In my order we made sure we loaded it up with meat with bbq chicken, ham and back bacon!

I had been here many years ago and had remembered it being really good. I was very disappointed as the crust was terrible. It reminded me of a premade crust that you buy at the grocery store. I used to work at a restaurant called Carpaccios many moons ago and our specialty was fire wood baked pizza and pasta. We used to proof the dough properly. I could tell that this was not the case wit this pizza. I will never go back again.

I've only had a delivery experience from this establishment. As you know, I'm always on a hunt for a better pizza slice, so I tried the Greek pizza tonight. It was so delicious! Firewood Pizza made our pizza not too thick or too thin, and it was made fresh. It wasn't nearly as oily as many of their competitors. I will swing by again to order more boxes!

For family pizza always ready when we arrive and for special flavours they have been our go to.
Many pizza places between here and home and we still drive here to pick up. They have a nice selection and we live the Thai chicken and shrimp and pesto and of course just pepperoni and cheese for the kids.
Prices reasonable and nice location on Cambie with parking out front.

Over rated! Avoid this place.
I asked for a pepperoni pizza with fresh basil and I get a salami pizza and the basil was added before the put the pizza in the oven so it was black and burned and taste really bad.
I removed everything so I can at least eat a margarita. But the pasta is not even good and the tomato salsa is not fresh.
Olives were good but their was to many of it.

that s the best quote that could describe my marvellous experience at this lovely restaurant/café : My friend and I were intially planning to stop by Passion8 café ( just next door) but when we passed by the Firewood Café we tried hard to resist the irresistible pizza smell but in vain...We ended up being inside the lovely pizza shop ready to order some food. The lady behind the counter was very welcoming and friendly as she brought the menu and explained to us what they had special and what was recommended and when we asked if she could make us

Pizza was non greasy and crust was thin with lots of toppings. What can I ask for. It was delicious. So I tried the Thai chicken and the Chicago style pizza. When I got the Thai chicken onto my plate, I was a bit worried that it would be too spicy (I touched it and can't put it back in the box so I took the courage to try it). To my surprise, it was actually ok. Tasted fine and delicious. I also got a slice of Chicago. Not its not the Chicago flavor pizza (I can say this because I just recently came back from Chicago). Definitely different kind of pizza that you would get from Chicago. But

Delicious non greasy thin crust pizza with speedy friendly service.
We stopped in here on the way to Yuk Yuks for a quick bite. No liquor license but the pizza was delivered to the table so quickly we didnt have time to really notice!
Just a few tables inside and obviously a very brisk take out business.
This was one of my favourite pizza places this year.

I love me some good pizza. Which means I'm constantly on the hunt for good pizza spots. My boyfriend and I decided we wanted to order in pizza for the night, so after finding Firewood on Yelp and reading the positive reviews, we decided to call in.
I'm not much of a crust eater unless it's stuffed or thin, and thin is the only way to go at Firewood. They only do half/half for large sizes, so it was a good thing we were feeling hungry, because we didn't hesitate when deciding on the large.
The guy on the phone was very helpful and asked

Well first things first.... Don't even bother picking up your phone in ordering - or getting into your car and going to this second rate restaurant.

Ordered a large chefs special minus green peppers add olives, on one half, ham and pineapple on the other half. Pizza arrives, I take it upstairs, open up the box... Extra green peppers, no ham and pineapple, and the modifications weren't even close. I called to let them know. They disagreed, insisted they were correct, and argued with me.
