Artworks
In the summer of 1981, Peter Turner met Wendy Lahti at her small picture-framing shop. They fell in love, got married and The Artworks was born a year later. The Artworks started as a humble poster shop in the historic Weinlos Building in downtown Edmonton. With the addition of unique gift items, cards and fresh-cut flowers the business moved to a larger space next to the old Rialto Theatre on 101 Street.

In 1987, they expanded north to the corner of Edmonton City Centre. Thirty-five years later, The Artworks is reincarnated in its current location on Rice Howard Way. Today, the store's distinctive storefront and forward window displays hint at the wonders inside. Enter and be transported into a magical world.

I visited The Artworks yesterday. What a wonderful, artistic store! I bought an item made right in Edmonton. So hard to find local products, but this is the place for it. The staff were lovely and very helpful, when I first spoke on the phone with them, and when I went into the store. It's shops like these that make me love downtown Edmonton. I highly recommend this business.

I was asked to get flowers for a coworkers family, this place i couldn't believe it! I gave my price limit and just askedfor a nice arrangement for the family as their loved one passed away. This place what a rip off! Gave 3 flowers for a $100 and their customer service was terrible! I strongly recommend you go else where....

On April 8th or 9th I ordered a bouquet of flowers from you for Easter. I asked only that they be long lasting and have lilies as I love the fragrance. You folks delivered a perfect bouquet that gave and gave. I cut the stems every three days and completely changed the water. The Gerbera daisies have carried on after the other flowers finally were finished. Thank you for such a wonderful bouquet. They continue to lift my spirits daily.

I love this place. I buy all my cards here. Really lovely staff too. the only thing I would say is the flowers are very pricey and the ones I bought for a friend, wilted before dinner was over. So that was disappointing. But i definitely recommend this place. They have a cute dog too ;P

Art Works is amazing!
Two things I want to comment about a few low ratings... 1) There are comments about the high prices. I don't like generalities but there are many items and pieces that are very reasonably priced. But I also come here for some special pieces that are finds that are expensive but these can be like specialty boutique items that are handcrafted from a lesser known designer in NYC. They're not dollar store items. 2) There are a few comments about bad customer service. I bought a few pieces on a few occasions and have had the attention of 3 or 4 staff at a time helping me and to

What's more important than just beautiful flowers? It's the card that comes with the flowers!! Great selection & creative cards for every moment in life. Cute little gift store as well. The ladies here are very creative and helpful..
Only the most important ladies in my life get flowers that why I shop "the artworks"
10 + years of happiness and love all wrapped in a bouquet of flowers!!! 🌸🎉🌹ðŸ™

Great little place for unique shopping and flowers. They have lots of local made products and brand name items, and a great selection of fountain pens. The staff are knowledgeable and very helpful.
The only down side may be that the prices are quite high, but it's definitely worth stopping in as there is always something for everyone.

I've been a fan of The Artworks since high school. I can remember being in grade ten, moving to the city, finding this adorable little boutique and perpetually saving money to buy my next little self indulgence. I still visit often.

I'm always blown away by the jewellery selection. There is a huge variety (both in style and price), but everything is artfully crafted and obviously amazing quality. My jewellery collection (mostly earrings and necklaces) is mostly from here.

I can also always find thoughtful gifts here. There is clearly so much care put into every item and I've

What a fantastic store. Every time I go in I'm always impressed. At the flowers, the stationary, the collectibles. The staff are friendly and know their stuff and will be willing to help you out when you need it.

There's one experience I had here that I won't forget, though. I had been in a few days prior and seen a Wes Anderson book. I thought, ah, I get paid next week, I'll go back and grab it then. I had a design project that week and figured that I would pick it up and use it for the project. I went in, and to my disappointment, the book was gone. I asked the woman working

I would give 2.5 stars if i could. This is a fun store, but I agree with some of the reviews below. Customer service is seriously lacking. I've stopped by this place many times as i live in the area and they always have lots of interesting things to browse through. I don't think I've ever been greeted, acknowledged or smiled at even once. This past weekend I came in to look around and there were three girls working, no other customers in the store. I wasn't particularly looking for help with anything but a simple hello is always nice. So if you can move beyond the lackluster

I am going with two stars instead of one because I have to give them credit....they do some absolutely breath taking arrangements. The whole store smells amazing and the two floral arrangements I saw sitting at the front counter would make even the most modern of women squeal with excitement over getting such pretty posies.

However when I entered the store there were two people wandering the floor and I had no idea whether one or both of them worked there. There was no hello,no smile, and not even a glance in my direction when I entered the store. I walked over to the locked display cases and browsed

Adorable little store in down town Edmonton. I wish more people knew about this place. While the price tag is a little steep for most items, the collection of items they have is well worth it. Where else can you buy a sequinned piggy bank to add character to your home? So many wonderful items to lust over. Ill definitely be back to this place!

I have patronized this cute little shop for awhile but will choose no longer to visit this store because of one or some of their products: post it notes with f**k you emblazoned on it and out in full view for all to see.
I am from the old school whereby I do not want crude and vulgar notations for all to see. There are 'speciality' smut stores where you would expect this type of item to be sold but I was shocked to see Artworks selling this type of ware.

This place still rules. Popped in when I was in town to load up on cards - was happy to see so many lovely cards; the consistency of this place gets me every time! And, since I mentioned card prices last time - this time I scored a few for under $5.

This is a store hidden away in a corner of City Center mall. The store has been around for a long time and I view at a great spot to grab something quick for a significant other or mothers day.

They have fresh cut flowers in great arrangements and they have great gifts as well. Things like jewelry, greeting cards and other out of the ordinary type gifts. The store is relatively small but carries so much. It can feel overwhelming at times.

It is a great spot to grab an original gift.

I've been past The Artworks store before but never went in... maybe I was just too worried my bag would hit something and I would end-up destroying someone's beautiful handmade work. Well today I decided to risk it all and go in to see what the store has to offer. Some of the jewelry they had in the display cases was really nice! I saw some fantastic silver bracelets with some dark blue beads or stones (I'm not sure which) but it was just so simple and so pretty that I wish I had the $99 to actually buy it and wear it for the rest of my life and then be buried in it. I, somehow

I've traveled to most of the significant metropolises in the world (NYC, Paris, Berlin, etc) just for shopping, and I can honestly say the ARTWORKS is a world-class store. Owners Peter and Wendy Turner have a brilliant eye for design and I'm so glad they created this business in Edmonton. There's a huge variety of cool stuff for every budget, and if you need a special and unique gift for someone (or yourself!), Artworks is a foolproof destination.

This is the only street-level boutique shop I can think of in the downtown core. We don't have much in the way of window shopping in our city centre, but this is one shop that's been a fixture for quite a while, despite the majority's tendency to head for the malls. There is so much that's beautiful in this store. It's full of jewelry and colourful, artistic gifts and decor. They also sell flowers, ceramics and unique art pieces, many by local artists, but the prices are astronomical. I've only been in here a few times, because I choose not to depress myself by looking

This is one of those stores you can pass by a hundred times before you finally notice it is there. Tucked away in a quiet corner of City Centre Mall, Artworks sells beautiful, fresh cut flowers in arrangements that are very unique. It also sells quirky, fun, and unusual gifts, postcards, greeting cards, and jewelry. The merchandise here can be a bit on the pricey side, but I sometimes stop in to get some postcards to decorate my room. It is a small store with a lot in it, and is worth a stop in if only just to look.

The Artworks has been on the outside corner of Edmonton City Centre mall for as long as I can remember. I believe it was started by two young women. It's a great store to visit, if you're looking for a funky or unique gift. The fresh-cut flowers they carry are always bold and beautiful. Everytime I walk by, the bright colours catch my eye. Some of the jewellery here is amazing, but it's also very expensive, like most items in this store. They also sell items like ceramic pots, vases, small statues, and artwork. Many of these are by famous artists, and I know some of the items are
