At Florence Dentistry - Downtown Ottawa Dentist, we provide a wide range of dental services for Ottawa patients needing various treatments from general to more detailed procedures. We are located in downtown Ottawa at the intersection of Florence and Bank Street. We are near major bust routes, Queensway 417 (Kent St.) exit, Ottawa University, Carleton University, Ottawa central bus station (Greyhound) and several other downtown Ottawa landmarks. I had a root canal and of course I was wide awake during the procedure!
Dr. Lysik is sooooo awesome! For those whom are nervous about visiting a dentist, you have no worries. She is amazingly sensitive, caring and compassionate! Neuromuscular science is a broad and all encompassing approach to finding the stable physiologic neutral zone. Historically occlusal theories focused on the hard tissue structures in the system but lacked comprehensive perspective to be able to create predictable outcomes.

I went here for a cavity and had no issues whatsoever. I was a little worried because of some of the reviews on here but I am happy that I chose Florence Dentistry. The reception welcomed me and walked me through the process. The dentist was caring and professional, taking their time to properly find the source of my pain, then delicately and meticulously resolve it. 💯Recommend

I don't often post reviews, but I have been so impressed with the service offered at Florence Dentistry that I had needed to - actively - recommend them to any possible future clients. Dr. Dragoi was not satisfied with my previous crown and encouraged me to get a better one. My tooth situation was complex due to the colour, but she made all the necessary arrangements throughout the complicated process. Such as:
(a) Seeing me multiple times (even exceptionally on days she wasn't scheduled to work, to fit my schedule);

I used to go here. I was fairly happy with my care and the hygienists were always good. I did not know who my dentist even after 2-3 years because it was somebody different every time. I realized afterward my fillings were poorly done. I had one fall out and had to be redone within 1 year (also done at Florence Dentistry). They were always jagged and not smooth with my teeth. Another fell out 1 year later. My new dentist had to redo 2 of them because they were done improperly and plaque was collecting underneath. Florence Dentistry is fine for cleanings and such, but I would not get any other fillings

Don’t go here if you value your teeth.
In a basic checkup Dr. Dragoi told me I had a cavity that needed filling. During the following botched procedure she somehow managed to mangle the tooth, resulting in extreme pain for a month afterward. When I went to see the senior dentist in the office to fix the problem, she told me she couldn’t see any issues and basically told me to rub sensodyne on it for a few weeks. Covid hit, and I haven’t been able to eat properly for 3 months. Finally going to see another dentist now. Worst experience ever.

Do not go here if you are anxious at the dentist or want a professional opinion about your teeth.
As someone who has had negative experiences during dental procedures, I was reluctant to switch to Florence Dentistry from a clinic I loved but did so out of convenience and proximity to my apartment. I visited Florence Dentistry once for a cleaning and exam, and the hygienist was really great at addressing my concerns, taking frequent breaks, and making me feel comfortable.
However, I was unimpressed by the rest of my visit. I was left alone in the exam room for a long time while waiting to be seen

The staff are wonderful. Tracey the receptionist was very kind and accommodating when I had severe dental pain. She went out of her way to make sure I was seen and treated as quickly as possible. Dr. Pershad was very kind and understanding. I had been putting off going to the dentist for a long time due to bad past experiences but the staff here has made my experience very relaxing. The hygenist was awesome and made normally horrible experience bearable. Can't recommend this place enough.

I came to this dentist office after my dentist passed away. It was a blessing to find. Dr. Lysik is a dentist from a true vocation and I trust her advice completely. The work of the staff is exceptional: very careful, educating the patient and full of sincere care. The lady in the front is wonderful. I very strongly recommend this dental office, it is a treasure.
