Inspired by global cuisine, Toben Food By Design puts a twist on classic fine dining by bringing the best from the reaches of the world since 2005. Chef Toben began his study at the Cordon Blue School of Culinary Arts in Paris where he was awarded Le Grande Diplome for excellence. Following, he apprenticed for Daniel Boulud before breaking into the Toronto food scene at Auberge du Pommier and Susur. With a passion for food and an art for perfection, it was not long after that Toben ventured off and Toben Food By Design was formed.

Hands down would recommend, we’ve ordered for the family two years in a row for Christmas Eve. It’s absolutely delicious, easy to pick up and minimal prep with easy instructions. It was packed well and transported very easily even with a jam packed car. The service was amazing respectably considering Covid precautions and overall can’t thank them enough for such a great experience!!

Ordered Christmas dinner for a small family gathering. Delivery was prompt and food was well-packed with clear heating instructions. It survived a night in the fridge plus a car trip. But the best part was the food itself--beautiful presentation, good flavours and lots of leftovers (yay). Thank you.

Toben catered our wedding in early November, and we had the very best experience!
We worked closely with Kira, and she was responsive, so kind, knowledgeable, and fun to work with. We had to make many changes due to COVID, and Toben was understanding, didn’t bat an eye, and even made helpful suggestions.
The food was amazing! Our guests are still talking about how delicious everything was. One of our guests said that they’d never seen so many clean plates at a wedding!

What an amazing experience with Toben and the entire team! Julie was an absolute pro, and so helpful and accommodating through out the entire process of planning for our wedding. They catered all of the food, staff and tableware rentals for the evening, and did an exceptional job. The food was incredible, and we are getting so many amazing comments from our guests as well. The staff were super helpful throughout the whole evening, before and after! It was a magical evening, and I cant thank Julie, Toben, and entire group enough. Definitely would recommend! 5 Star food and service, at a large capacity

4 days before my daughters outdoor wedding the forecast changed for the worse and we forced to scramble to find an indoor alternative. My first call was to Toben who had already been hired to cater the event. By luck their Grace room Venue was available. The team at Toben made the whole evening a huge success.....On 4 days notice!! unheard of. The Room was great! The food outstanding! The servers were kind, courteous and beyond efficient. I recently used Toben for a birthday buffet dinner for 20. I was very pleased with the planning stages. Savanah was very responsive and available for as many questions or changes that I required always making me feel like I was a welcome customer. I wanted a vegan meal and they worked hard to make sure I had enough variety as possible. The food turned out to be very good. I had been at affairs where they catered and I was always impressed with the flavor and uniqueness of their food. Most of what we had was delicious but I would say the weaker item was the fatoush salad. The two servers were excellent

If you are looking for outstanding planning, service and the most amazing food then look no further! Toben Food By Design Inc. met all of our expectations for our backyard wedding and then some! Megan was the most wonderful person to work with and made changing our wedding reception to a backyard event seamless. The chefs, servers and bartender were also spectacular. And THE FOOD I can't even begin to describe how perfect and delicious everything was. My guests are still talking about everything! Thank you again so much Megan and team! So good! We ordered food for our Eid holiday and folks at Toben went above and beyond to make sure the food was delivered first thing in the morning. We had their fried rice, fattoush salad, potato salad, cauliflower and asparagus. But the real winners on the menu were the mushroom cakes and flatbread pizza. Flourless chocolate cake and premium cookies were also phenomenal. Can't wait to order from them again!

We ordered a Passover dinner from here and were told 2 entrees, one side of rapini (it came with 5 pieces) and mini brownies would be enough food for us with leftovers.
We opened the food containers and immediately thought the vegetable sides were not enough food for us. We plated the food and proceeded to eat our dinner.
The fish entree was really good but the portion was extremely small. We plated our meal on small dishes so the food looks big in the picture when it was much smaller in reality. We definitely would have ordered a third entree and more sides if we would have known the portion

This is a pretty belated post but this Thanksgiving dinner was such an amazing spread! I normally dont celebrate Thanksgiving so this was a first. The turkey leg was juicy and I loved the seasoning or marinade they used. The stuffing was honestly one of my favourite parts of this whole meal too. We (3 people) weren't even able to finish all the meat, so I used some of the turkey breast to make sandwiches and lunch for the next few days. I also still have a few slices of the pumpkin cheesecake in my freezer too (never knew pumpkin cheesecake was so good until now).

Such a great experience going for the tasting at Toben. Everyone was very helpful and informative. Service was great. The kitchen is big and beautiful and so well organized. We did a tasting of the menu and everyone really enjoyed everything. Proteins were cooked beautifully, and the gnocchi was fantastic. Was a great experience and can't wait to try more.

Tried out “Luke”, Toben’s first series of pop-up dinners and it was fantastic!
For $65, we were served a 9-course meal. Even though drinks are not included, this is still a phenomenal value.
For my particular meal, all dishes were Asian themed and we especially enjoyed the charred octopus and the Korean fried wings. There really wasn’t a dish they was bad

We had Toben cater for our wedding this past November and we were very pleased with the service and food quality. We got the chicken as our main course and it was absolutely fantastic! Moist, well cooked and everyone got a leg (best part in my opinion). Even our vegetarian guests were raving about how fine the veggie meal was. The appetizers were also very good and the staff were very good at organizing our seating arrangement and refilling everyones drinks (even though our seating was a little crazy). Thank you again Toben and Kira too for all your help! Everything was absolutely lovely!

Tried Toben Food By Design at the Union Station Food Market (Front Street Foods). I ordered the flatbread (basically pepperoni pizza) and a side of mac & cheese. I was lulled (I think) by the promise of mac & cheese - one of my favourite homecooked items. Overall, not very impressed with the food. Prices were a bit high and the food quality was just "meh". The pizza/flatbread was fine - nice texture of bread and pepperoni was crisp, but overall it just seemed to lack some taste. Same thing can be said about their mac&cheese - it was advertised as 4 cheese mac & cheese

Came here for the fashionmag award show at the design exchange and Tebon was the caterer.
Probably the best food I have ever had at a venue. Everything was fresh, different and delicious. I wish they had a restaurant but instead I am writing the review here. The food was prepped very nicely with pretty presentation. Easy to eat hor d'oeuvres that didn't cause any mess. Favourite was the ahi tuna, steak tartar and the risotto mushrooms. They did very well on catering to meat and non-meat eaters.

Was at the Fashion Magazine #WMCFW awards soirée last night at the Design Exchange. The catering was done by Toben. The hors d'oeuvres were excellent. We tried the steak tartare, shrimp, veggie flatbread, mushroom risotto balls, ahi tuna, chicken sausage bites, tomato pastry, and the duck confit. Honestly the food was amazing. My personal faves were the duck confit, shrimp and flat bread. The food was all bite sized, but definitely impactful flavour wise. There was little to no mess in eating it and the servers came around fairly often. I'm not sure if they are from Toben, but regardless
