CottageRental.com was formed in 1988 and became the first agency in Ontario to specialize in the provision of private, vacation cottage rentals. Our purpose is to assist the traveling public in finding suitable, privately owned, waterfront, cottage accommodation in Ontario's Cottage Country while providing professional rental services to cottage owners in marketing and managing their valuable investment.
Jan graduated from Laurentian University (a very long time ago.) and became the manager of Rainbow Country Travel Association, responsible for marketing the tourism product in the Parry Sound through Sudbury area. Jan then became the Director of the Tourism Ontario Accommodation Grading Program, responsible for the management of the program which set out to evaluate, rate and market commercial accommodation throughout the province of Ontario.

With over thirty years of experience meeting the vacationing public's expectations for private, rental cottage accommodation, we think our agency services take much of the hassle and uncertainty out of renting a private cottage.
All of the rental cottages that we represent have been inspected by our staff, and meet high standards of cleanliness and maintenance. All properties have fully equipped kitchens, washrooms with at least 3 pieces (toilet, sink, shower and/or tub) and many other amenities to make your vacation a pleasant one.

For the past 2 summers, my family and another have rented and shared cottages that, we had found through Cottagerental.com. The cottages have been amazing and our experiences were everything we wished for and more. We just finished a week at cottage 314. Beautiful place. Well maintained, great landscaping, perfect amount of space. Friendly neighbors and perfect place on Lake Chandos.

Exceptional customer service, especially from Janice, as the team really worked to provide us with the best cottage to meet our needs. As this was our first time renting out a cottage, all staff were very friendly to chat with and genuinely seemed to care about answering any of our questions.

Booked a cottage with them for June 12, 2021. Due to government restrictions for COVID -19 short term rentals are not permitted until June 14, 2021. They contacted us to inform us of this issue to make us aware. I requested to see if we could only attend for 5 days starting on June 14th to adhere to the Ontario governments COVID restrictions. They… denied this request due to their strict 7 days booking policy. I then requested for the refund and they are refusing the refund until the date of June 12, 2021 because the government may change the date. They are essentially holding my refund

The team at Cottage Rental were attentive, professional, and pleasant to work with. It was nice to be able to speak with a representative on the phone to discuss rental options, prices, as well as additional details about all the properties they represent. Awesome location, beautiful cottage inside and out - so tastefully decorated - no detail spared from linens and beds to entertainment - this place has it all and easily accommodated our families - Very easy rental access, beautiful view, excellent equipment for use on lake....place has all the amenities.......service was exceptional from both the… owners and rental agency highly recommend this location.....friendly neighbours, easy access for boating etc etc....we will be back!

Our 2nd year renting with and have had a very positive experience. The cottage we rented, the same one both years, was accurately represented in the listing and pictures. The entire rental process was well organized and professional and provided us with excellent and friendly customer service. WARNING. Do not rent from Cottage 585 on Chandos Lake Apsley. This is our first cottage review ever.
Description of Cottage.
The lake is gorgeous, the scenery is magnificent, the cottage will give you that quaint woodlands experience perched atop a beautiful hill side. Just 700 short stairs down to the water. Be prepared for the authentic 1st settlers experience climbing mountains and dying from heat stroke.
And then to settle back home for the most numbingly email exchanges from the owner demanding compensation (approx. $1,110) for a few beer caps left behind and the fridge not being wiped

The staff at Cottage Rental dot com are extremely communicative and helpful! They helped me plan the most wonderful cottage trip in Haliburton. We received a thorough welcome package with all the cottage/area information and accurate maps! The cottage itself was breathtaking, spotless, and very warm and rustic. The owners of the cottage gave us a quick phone call and recommended things to do in the area! The reviews section on their website is actually very detailed and informative, so I would suggest reading the reviews for the cottages before booking so you’re informed. I usually stay away
