Joe moved to a new location that he and his partner, opened up in downtown Guelph, which included a Bakery Shop. Learning the Craft of Baking over 25 years ago, University Bakery and Deli was opened in 1994 as a Bakery retail shop with Groceries, Deli, Cheese, Pastries and Baked Goods. Come in an experience fresh in store made bread and pastries with only the very best natural ingredients.

Currently, we are in our 24th year of operation at University Square Bakery and Deli, located on the corner of Gordon Street and Kortright Road in Guelph, Ontario. Customize your sandwiches with your choice of bread/bun and a wide selection of deli meats and cheeses with all of your favourite toppings. Catering is also available for Morning Pastries to lunch time sandwich trays, cheese trays, salads, veggie trays, dessert trays and drinks. Call or email so we can customize your catering order.

I know a few of the ladies in the store. Before Covid I was what you would call a regular. While I was in the store the owner had asked me to leave because I am exempt from mask restrictions. I have been coming for 5 years now. I understand that every Business man or woman has the right to set their own rules for their business. As well as every individual in this country has the right to exercise their own beliefs. Which goes along with wearing a mask. Just as well as if I was African American in 1950 and would’ve been asked to leave a store. I was treated as an outsider and was asked to leave

Even though I saw a couple of negative reviews, I saw mostly positive so I went ahead and gave this place a try. I'm soooo glad I did, I guess you just can't please everyone! Everything I bought was delicious and my experience was very positive. Such nice staff and selection, very pleased. I will be back again!
