Services
Karl Hager founded Karl Hager Limb & Brace Ltd. in 1977. Following the sudden and unfortunate passing of Mr. Hager, the company was operated on a part time basis in an attempt to service Mr. Hager's clients. Though his clients were cared for effectively and attentively, the growing business required full time concentration.
At Karl Hager Limb & Brace, our patients are the reason why we do what we do. No matter what you're struggling with, we're happy to assist you with all your bracing and orthotic requirements in Edmonton. Reach out to us and speak to our team for attentive care and treatment. We request you to book an appointment before arrival to ensure the best service possible.
At Karl Hager Limb & Brace, one of the most popular services that we offer is knee bracing. Our certified clinicians are well-experienced in providing professional care, helping manage knee injuries. There are more than 100 types of arthritis, but the most common is osteoarthritis, also known as OA or degenerative joint disease (DJD). Knee osteoarthritis occurs when the rubbery cartilage that covers the ends of your bones breaks down. Normally, the cartilage provides a cushion between the bones, allowing them to glide smoothly over each other.
Ankle foot orthoses (AFO) play an integral role in the management of foot drop/drop foot for a variety of different pathologies. With a wide range of options available for designs and materials, the function of each AFO can be finely tuned to meet the individual needs of each user. Although the requirements of each individual may differ, providing an AFO that facilitates the safest and most energy-efficient movement pattern is the primary goal.

M/C accident with 3 deer in 2014. Damn near DOA. Very slow recovery during 6 years. Knees wobble sideways unless supported.
Emily Orthotist at Karl Hager walked out of the appointment as she was pissed i did not bring x-rays. I explained if she twisted the leg sideways she would cause a further injury. . I departed without a course of action. For her to confirm the condition, prescription, request, x-ray, ct, mri, fax or phone my doctor was too much for her to do. How would i know i needed to bring x-rays in person? I was looking for was a good quality knee brace whether i paid cash, credit

My osteoarthritis in my knees was really getting bad when I was referred to Karl Hager. Shawna was the lady that assessed me, and help make sure that I received braces that were exactly what I needed. They even helped me get all that I needed to get my braces financed to 75%. These braces will allow me to function better on a day-to-day basis. Thank you to all of the staff from Karl Hager. You've made my life better.

After moving to Edmonton, I had my replacement orthotics made by my Edmonton podiatrist. Not being a fan of the style they had made me, I came to Karl Hager Limb & Brace partly on the recommendation of a co-worker, partly because they happen to be not far from home.
Skills of fitting are great. First visit to fit for my new orthotics I brought along my knee brace I'd had fit in Calgary some while ago (and it was a few years old) to get an opinion on replacing or repairing it. Turns out that all it needed was a couple of new/updated straps and it was as good as new! No more sliding all

One of Edmonton's best locations for customized orthotics of all sorts and footwear. While the interior decor is a bit dated, you're not going there to be impressed by their furniture. Their products are reliable, their staff are skilled, and they have a dog who hangs out there, who is obviously well used to the commotion of new people going in and out. Worth checking out if you need orthotics or braces or the like.
