For over 20 years, the Calgary Mountain Bike Alliance (CMBA) has been building and maintaining sustainable singletrack trails in the Calgary and Kananaskis area. We are committed to creating safe, world-class trails and skills parks. We strive to grow a passionate and involved mountain bike community.
For the last few CMBA group rides of the season, we're going to head out of the city and check some trails in K-Country. This time it's a CMBA classic - Moose Packers and Ridgeback. If good weather persists through October, we might add a few more. We're going to switch up the format of our rides going forward, and take advantage of the nice summer weather we've been having lately.

The Calgary Mountain Bike Alliance has been a part of Calgary's mountain biking scene for over 20 years, and we intend to be here for a very long time to come. Our Vision: Bring together the Calgary and area community to create world class trails for all mountain bikers, and have fun doing it!. Our Mission: Build and maintain trail for the benefit of Calgary and area mountain bikers.
The CMBA is an entirely volunteer-run organization and what we can achieve is limited primarily by how many volunteers we have and how much time they can devote to the cause. New volunteers are always more than welcome and can help out in many ways, whether they're able give an hour or two a month, a day per year, or whatever works for them.
Bike and Brew is a place where coffee and cycling cultures collide. Their unique bicycle shop specializes in both coffee and bicycle sales, while maintaining all types of bicycles in their full service repair shop. They stock an extensive selection of stylish and functional active lifestyle clothing and house a wide array of parts alongside cycling and activewear accessories.
The CMBA used to do a ton of work in Fish Creek Provincial Park, in cooperation with Alberta Parks and the Friends of Fish Creek Provincial Park. Work has been suspended for a couple of years but we're hoping to get an agreement in place soon so that trail work can resume. The more challenging (often rooty) trails are found west of Macleod Trail.
Trinity purchased 260 acres of land at Paskapoo Slopes - they are developing the lower 100 acres and have turned over the upper 160 acres to The City for a public park. CMBA worked with Trinity to reroute some trails before the development work started. CMBA is now working with The City on any problem areas and building bridges/boardwalks as necessary.
