Hardcore Mountain Bike Store
Hardcore Bikes has always been known as a "technical" bike shop. To maintain that high level of service we use the best tools, premium shop supplies and evolved practices. Our mechanics have all been trained at professional bike schools and follow the "measure, don't guess" philosophy of bike repair.

We are a group of biking fanatics that love to ride, and we think we should give something back to our sport. Hardcore Kids is focused on the development and application of mountain biking skills and fitness for children aged 7 - 15.
Services
Since 1989 Edmonton's Hardcore Bikes has specialized in the best mountain bikes, road bikes, commuter and e-bikes. The heart of our business however is repairing and servicing bikes; we fix what the other guys can't. 2019 was our 30th year in business-come find out why we've been here that long. Founded in 1989 by Jim Moulden, Hardcore Bikes was the original mountain bike shop in Edmonton.
Got a question about a product or service we offer; or just want to know when the next ride is? The best way to get a hold of us is, of course, to drop by. If you can't make it in, email us. Phone works too but we believe in providing personal, old-school service; if we are assisting a customer in the shop we do not interrupt them to answer the phone.

Mark's sizing advice proved to be bang on. Got my bike a month earlier and it was assembled a day earlier than expected. Steve provided excellent advice on customization, accessories and tune ups. All my last minute changes were completed before I was ready to leave the store. Out riding the same day!

It can daunting to go into a specialist repair shop like this, but as someone with beginner/intermediate bike repair experience, I had the complete opposite experience. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful! I went in to get my rear derailleur fixed thinking I was going to spend ~$200, and they fixed it up with used parts for ~$70. I would recommend Hardcore Bikes to anyone who wants their bike fixed/tuned! P.S. there is free customer parking in the alley!

I am relatively new to biking in Edmonton. The associate took a lot of time to answer my questions about the type of riding available and the type of riding I am capable of doing. All with the goal of landing on whether or not to move forward. I never felt any pressure, just great advice. I would highly recommend to people I know seeking a bike store.

I have been coming to Hardcore Bikes since 2016 when I got a Marin hardtail. My experience with HCB since that time has been nothing but fantastic. The staff from the owner, to sales to the fabulous bike technicians is second to none. Emerson has kept my commuter and hardtail in tip top shape for all these years.
Steve just sold me a gorgeous Trek Fuel EX 9.8. His extensive knowledge of bikes really helped as we wove our way to the right match for the kind of riding I do. I can't say enough positive things about HCB and would highly recommend them to anyone in search of new wheels!!

EXCELLENT SERVICE - OUTSTANDING CAST OF CHARACTERS.I recently dropped an aging MTB off for an inspection. I asked the Hardcore team to inspect the bike and provide guidance. To ride or not to ride was the question. Sage counsel was provided and a decision was made to rejuvenate my trusty 2 wheeler. The sales and shop teams were very courteous. They were diligent in sourcing components and communicated each step of the way. Pricing was most fair. I am pleased to report the project was a complete success. My wheels are turning again and I cant stop grinning. I must honestly say this has been one

Hardcore Bikes is an amazing locally owned bike shop. I came in to have my six year old bike tuned and properly cleaned for the first time. The guys did a fantastic job and it rides like a dream. They do a quick check up prior to servicing to see what may need replacing, servicing, cleaning, etcetera, but they are not pushy. I will happily return for further service and when I am in the market for a new bike.

I just had my e-bike serviced at Hardcore bikes ........very impressed. I had used the service of another bike shop but ended up having issues with my brakes rubbing. When I asked the other bike place about it they told me that's just the way my bike is. Well it took all of 2 minutes for the staff at Hard core to recognize the rubbing and they said they would take care of it. They did and my bike is riding so smooth no rubbing and the noise is gone. Thank you Hard core I will be taking my bikes to you from now on.

My all time favorite place for mountain bikes and service in edmonton. It's a small shop but the service is friendly, honest and fast! Don't expect cheap stuff but you'll also never get gouged. On many occasions I've even been convinced to purchase a more affordable high value part.

Very high-end mountain bikes and hybrids, as well as equipment and accessories. You won't find much here for under $1000 but there is decent selection for a small store. It is very obvious this store is indeed for hardcore bike people with big budgets.

I scored a relatively low-end Marin bike in the $500 range that my salesperson J mentioned that they had received in error. Lucky me, as it was almost perfect in terms of everything I wanted, except the lack of disc brakes. I did not find the service and accessories to be well-priced, but that may be because my budget for such things is very modest, as I am not a big-time bike enthusiast. I had expected free install on my return for tune-up, considering installs are free at the time of purchase; but since a kick stand was not in stock at the time of purchase, they would take my word for it on my
