Babylon Cafe is proud to have 3 amazing locations in Metro Vancouver to serve you the best food. Come visit one of our locations for the most authentic Middle Eastern food experience around town. We are certain you will love our menu items. Babylon cafe opened their first location on Robson St. (at the corner of Granville St. ) in 2004 and the word of mouth was the main advertising for this little place.
Some people called it "Hole in the wall". As the years go by this little place has been well known by having a line up, all day and all night. You can even smell the tender chicken from across the block. That little space left a great memory during the 7 years we were there from the 2010 Olympics all the way to the firework celebrations, the Stanley cup finals and much, much more.

Loved the vibe of the staff here. We passed by here during a bar hop while in Van Beach. Owner stands outside on the sidewalk and asks you what you want and it feels very New York style. The staff communicate with each other very colorfully and with a lot of personality. They greet you very well and the food is phenomenal. Especially if you just came from the bar down the street the smell just draws you in. They see you on a patio adjacent the sidewalk. Great vibe

Great place for weekend guys. It's always live even in midnights. Their Donaire plates are a must try ones which are really fresh and yummy. It's always rush there. We often go there when we are in downtown in weekends. It's like 3 shops in the same row. Parking may seem to be a bit difficult but there is alley next to it. It is mentioned as a halal restaurant

My wife and I are walking by Babylon café in English Bay and decided to stop to grab a couple of Shawarma‘s to go. The gentleman at the front that was taking our order it was very kind and courteous. Open kitchen looked organized and clean. All seemed to be pointing towards a perfect Sunday afternoon supper to have at home which is only two blocks away. We have often ordered through door dash from the joints next door (Mediterranean) but had never tried Babylon. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed. Sandwiches were very soggy and we were both unable to eat them with our hands. The photo

This used to be the Best place, but prices have gone way up (increased several times in one year) and portions have gone down, smaller portions served at higher prices. Since around 6-8 months something changed and between higher cost and smaller portions, I no longer go there after having been a daily customer almost every other day.
Time to find a new place where we can still get value. Tried it again yesterday and portions were so small and price had yet again increased.

I don't know if this is run by the same people who used to run the Babylon Café on Robson (right about where Old Navy is now, if I remember correctly), but as my sweetie and I were walking past it and reminiscing about the old place, one of the cooks saw us looking in, smiled, and opened up the shield on one of the rotisseries so we could admire the shawarma. As it happens, we had already eaten, but with an attitude like that, we just had to go back the next day.
In order to keep to my low-carb diet, I had to pass up so many wonderful things (pita, rice, potatoes, and -- sob -- hummus),

This is gonna be a simple review!
After picking up some super terrible for you Poutine we decided a salad would go best with it. We stumbled upon Bablyon Cafe near our hotel. There was only one of young man in line but he was basically on his way out as we were entering.
The space itself it nothing fancy - it's like a deli basically! We ordered a large greek salad to go. The young man made the salad but also asked us if we wanted onions, tomatoes, and cheese (it only came with lettuce otherwise) so of course we said YES! He made the salad with olive oil and maybe some oregano - nothing

I can't believe it's taken me this long to try Babylon cafe even though I work only a couple blocks away. I finally came here after following my nose over to a coworker's desk. She was having the chicken salad (shawarama-style chicken on a bed of greek salad) and highly recommended it, so I decided to try the same dish. The chicken salad is huge and flavorful and had all the components that I loved - crispy roasted chicken, spicy sauces on top, fresh salad. Pretty much a shawarma but without the wrap. They give you a lot of food, and for that it's a great price.

One of my favs to go to when I'm craving more food! The shawarma plates are worth it! You get so much food for what you pay for. On the other hand... The wraps not so much. The wraps are a little pricey, good quality though. But the size was underwhelming. Their falafel was fantastic. Always crispy and great textured outside, yet softer and a bit moist inside. It is very busy here for lunch, so I'd recommend coming after the rush. Around 1 or later

I miss the old Babylon Cafe by the old Chapters on Robson--if they froze the food that was made back in the old Robson days, thawed it today, and served it, that would probably taste better than whatever food they make "fresh" here and now. The quality of food this branch serves has gone down exponentially over the years. Bad food, bad prices, bad service.
I can't speak for the other current branches, though.

By far one of my favorite spots in town! Their chicken shewarma wrap or plate is unreal! Cheap prices, friendly staff and fantastic food! Everything is done with a lot of care, you can see that it is a family run business. We've been going to Babylon for years and the quality is always the same, which is what keeps us going back.
They have some small tables inside and outside but the majority of people get the meals to go.

Came here for the first time about a week and a half ago. Can't believe I've never came here before. It's sort of your typical hole in the wall style donair/shawarma place.
I had the lamb shawarma plate. It comes with pita bread, salad, hummus, and a potato. It's a great value for what you get, and tastes great too.
Only downside is that it gets pretty busy during the lunch rush and you have to wait in line in between all the sit down tables. A little awake add. Nevertheless, still recommended!

Pretty great shawarma offerings! The joint is TINY in that it's usually full during weekdays after seating maybe...10 people or so? That said, the beauty of this little hole in the wall is that it's located so close to the law courts that you can just bring your eats to Robson Square to chow down on!
I got the chicken shawarma plate and it was a pretty fair sized portion! Definitely love the crispiness of the chicken bits and the lentils in the brown rice, yum!

Their newest location, didn't think it's been more than a year as usually their other locations in busier areas.
Unlike the others, this has the best view with wall to ceiling glass, loft style.
Their baklavas are great, comparable to Aladdin Cafe.
Parking tough here, especially on a one-way street, at least there's an alley to pull over if you're willing to chance it, so suggest calling it in advance for pick up.
