Services
Village Optical has been protecting and preserving eyesight for over 30 years. We're located in the St Vital neighbourhood but serve patients from all over Winnipeg and the rest of Manitoba! We're especially proud that the majority of our referrals come from existing patients. It means the world to know our patients trust us enough to recommend us to their friends and family (but if you want to recommend us to your enemies, too, we don't mind).
Regular eye exams are a necessary part of your healthcare plan. Not only can they detect vision problems before they interrupt your regular vision, but they may also reveal healthcare conditions that affect the whole body. Your vision is unique to you. Our enthusiastic and friendly professionals are here to build a personal eye care plan that addresses your needs.
How incredible would it be to see the world through our children's growing eyes? Who wouldn't love the chance to see bright colours and vivid images again for the first time? Our children's eyes need special protection, so it's vital to remain diligent when it comes to their vision care. As our children grow, their eyes grow alongside them.
Your vision can blur when blood glucose levels are in the higher range. You may temporarily correct blurred vision by adjusting your insulin levels, but if blood sugar remains elevated for an extended period, it increases your risk of eye disease. When high glucose levels in the blood cause damage to the eyes' blood vessels, diabetic retinopathy can occur.
We love our eyeglasses at Village Optical, but it's no secret that sometimes they interfere with our day-to-day lives. Let's put the rose-coloured specs aside for a minute and imagine a life of unobstructed vision: enjoying exercise without foggy lenses; watching a movie without seeing smudges; and walking in the rain without having to wipe water droplets off your lenses.

We have visited Village Optical for glasses for many years and have always been treated well. I liked how the COVID-19 requirements were met in an unobtrusive manner and people were consistently polite. I am disturbed to see how very quiet the business is. People came and went but there were never more than 5 people in the building ( besides staff). Dr. Van Dyjck was cheerful, polite and thorough. We will be back next year for our annual optical exam and look forward to seeing all of you. Thank you for a job well done.

Went here with my late grandfather's glasses, wanting them to change the lenses inside to my prescription, upon picking them up I noticed they had cut the frame in multiple places, since then it has broken in another 2 places, These are not the type og glasses to require lenses, You are easily able to pop the lenses out. Very irritated and I advise to stay away unless you're buying frames from them.
