Our eye care team is devoted to providing high-quality, thorough eye care to families in our communities in the GTA. Dr. Awadia has always been passionate about helping children learn more about their eyes and develop life-long healthy eye habits. She opened Yonge Eyes Optometry in 2014 to provide a safe, inviting space for her littlest patients.
With friendly service and a fun Harry Potter theme, Yonge Eyes Optometry has been recognized as one of the top 3 pediatric optometry clinics in Toronto 3 years in a row! Sometimes, those with perfect eyesight may struggle with their visual skills because their eyes and brain aren't fully working together.

Services
We would love to see you and your family for your next eye exam! Yonge Eyes Optometry has been providing Lawrence Park and the Greater Toronto Area with high-quality eye care since 2014. Our clinic is located on Yonge Street, right beside the Royal Bank. We're on the second floor, so we are not wheelchair accessible at this time.
For over 30 years, successive Ontario governments have ignored optometrists about this important health care issue. In 1989, the fee paid for an OHIP insured eye exam was $39.15; today, 32 years later, it is on average $44.65. This has not kept up with inflation and does not come close to covering the cost (including rent, staff, utilities, equipment, taxes and supplies) to provide an eye exam.
No matter your age, health, or eyesight, it's essential you undergo regularly scheduled eye exams. An eye exam can determine your current ocular prescription and also detect early signs of eye diseases and conditions that can affect your long-term vision. Many eye diseases progress with little to no symptoms, posing considerable risk to your ocular health.
The moment your child is born, they learn to interact with the world using their eyes. Your child's eyes will undergo many astounding developmental changes as they learn the vital visual skills they'll need as they grow. If your child develops a vision problem or any of their visual skills are lacking, they could struggle academically, socially, or emotionally.
Diabetes is a systemic disease that affects all areas of your body. Depending on the type of diabetes you have, it affects how your body produces or uses insulin. Insulin regulates the glucose (sugar) in your bloodstream by processing it into energy. Too much sugar in the bloodstream can damage organs, nerves, and blood vessels.

Dr. Awadia is very thorough, and offers helpful explanations and descriptions as she proceeds through the exam. She uncovered an issue with my eyes that my previous optometrist had missed for years, and in so doing, relieved some recurring discomfort. She is also extremely kind, and fantastic with our kids. The staff are pleasant and courteous. Thank you!

If I can give this place zero star I would. After reading positive reviews about this place I took my son here for an eye exam. He just turned 3. My son does not wear a mask. I was given a mask to put on him. He would not keep on the mask. What pi$$ed me off was when I was told that the staff is half vaccinated and they don’t want the staff “exposed”. Exposed to what? Are you aware that the Covid injection does not stop you from getting Covid? You all are a bunch of cold hearted individuals discriminating against a 3 year old over a mask. I never had such an experience even while taking him

Brought my 7 year old son to find his first glasses. Selection was good and the service was great but once we chose a pair he liked and were measured up I was told the only option for lenses was a 2 for 1 “deal” that would cost $390. I don’t want to buy two frames and I don’t want an extra set of lenses just in case. I don’t mind paying for quality and I don’t mind paying a premium for great service but I never want to feel like I’m being take advantage of.
I walked.
I found the exact same frames from another local independent for 10% less. Comparable poly-carbonate lenses including

I received a vision therapy from Yonge Eyes since last year and just finished my therapy recently. I had experienced in both in person therapy and virtual therapy. It was totally fantastic process. My therapist Brainne is professional, super patient and helpful and Dr Awadia is so supportive and warm. All the other staff are incredible and friendly and they always make me feel at home. I had made big progress after my 40 sessions. Definitely a wonderful experience and highly recommend!
