At East N West Diner our menu features Canadian, Indian & Sri lankan dishes. Our Sri Lankan and Indian food provides a sampling of this rich variety of using spices and mixtures imported from Sri Lanka and India. You can taste the aromatic hot red peppers, tamarind, garlic and ginger, enjoy the delicate aromas of cardamom, curry leaves, fenugreek, turmeric and bite into the tiny black mustard seeds.
Indian & Sri Lankan cuisine is distinguished from that of the neighbouring countries because the spices are fast roasted before they are ground and added to the food, to bring out nuances of flavour in a unique and pleasant way. Our main dishes are steamed and we pay particular attention to lowering the fat content in our food.

The East N West diner is a very welcome addition to the dining scene in Richmond (and frankly Ottawa itself). The service was attentive, generous, and kid friendly. The food was out of this world: extremely flavorful and rich. My wife and I agree it's the best butter chicken we've had in a long time, and the lamb kothuroti was a welcome new surprise.

Went for breakfast on a Saturday, service was prompt and courteous, they had a good high chair for our 7 month old. Staff were attentive to our needs, orders came out all perfectly cooked and at the same time. Prices are competitive. The place is very clean and well maintained, and has lots of room for larger groups. I've been to other places nearby and can say for sure this place is worth the money, a good breakfast spot in Richmond!

If you're in Ottawa Richmond area and like Sri Lankan or Indian cuisine then this is a must try. The Saturday evening buffet was delicious. I've been to Sri Lanka multiple times and have tried SL restaurants in Brampton where there is a large SL population and by far this has been my most authentic SL food experience. If you're not comfortable about ordering one meal then definitely try the buffet on the weekend. Very refreshing! Very friendly staff and great service thus far.

Folks in Barrhaven, Richmond and area don't need to head into town for proper South Asian food anymore!
Our food was hot, delicious and prepared fresh! It is prepared authentically with the exception of being less spicy. Not to worry, the kitchen staff will heat it up for you, if you choose.
The restaurant is very family friendly. They have real, PROPER high chairs! And speaking of friendly, the server's went above and beyond to ensure our needs and expectations were exceeded.
10/10 - can't wait to visit again.
