From day one in 1993, we've made bread using the best, carefully selected, sustainable and non-GMO ingredients with a healthy obsession for perfection. We bake in stone hearth ovens and use French linen proofing cloth. Loaves are scored by hand with their signature mark. In fact, we can tell which baker scored each loaf as it's a little like signing their work.
Most importantly, our sourdough starter links the loaves we make today with the ones we made decades ago. The essence of our breads - their very flavour - is carried through that link. Fermentation is the oldest and original way to leaven bread; a traditional method passed down from baker to baker for thousands of years.

Services
To enhance flavour, all of our breads are made using a slow-food process. The breads in our sourdough series are leavened through a fermentation process using a sourdough-based starter. This simple and classic loaf is made with high-quality Canadian flours to create a crisp crust and soft, airy crumb.

To be honest I love their granola so much, but was massively let down when I cam here for some coffee and 0astires with my girlfriend at weekend. I ordered a latte with amond milk + croissant and she got a capuchin with almond milk and a cardomane cinnamon bun. The coffee was taking an absolute age and there was no jne waiting for s coffee ahead of us when we ordered.... we were told to sit and then when your drinks are ready we will call your name and they will be left at the end of the coffee Bar collection. A build up of people started standing and the end of the coffee bar waiting on their

I came here specifically for their almond croissants however, they were completely sold out! Instead, I got two chocolate croissants and a pistachio raisin loaf! I ended up eating both of the chocolate croissants in the car because they were so fluffy crispy and delicious! Quite addicting actually. I know how difficult croissants are to make, they can days! Thank goodness for bakeries like these to do all the heavy lifting! Their loaf is super delicious too! Great pastries, thanks!

Their breads are very good. I tried their baguette and sourdough. Both were flavorful, soft and fluffy on the inside and crispy golden brown on the outside. I also treated myself to their almond croissant. It was probably the best almond croissant I'd ever had. The croissant was so flaky and buttery. It was not overly sweet and the almond flavor was very prominent which I loved. You may think they are a little pricey but after you taste their breads and baked goods you'll understand why because you can taste the quality of their ingredients. This is a limited review as I've tried only one item here - the Blueberry Bread with white chocolate - yum, yum!! Loaded with blueberries, the friendly staff told me it's one of their best sellers. With a bit of white chocolate also, I thought the Can$4.50 price is a good bargain. I sure couldn't find anything of this quality at this price where I live.
This location is inside the Marketplace building amongst the many structures within the Granville Island complex. Though there are at least 3 other bakeries in the same building, this place seems to be holding up well against

I really, REALLY enjoyed this place. I got the Toasted Pecan Cinnamon Bun and the Tomato Pesto Focaccia. The use of the brioche bun for the cinnamon bun really elevated the entire sweet and it was incredibly soft and delicious. I opted to have cream cheese icing on top and I'm glad I did. It was a nice little addition and the combination of the bun and the topping never felt overly sweet and I devoured it in only a few minutes. Also there are pecan baked into the bun, not just on top!
This was the first time I tried a Focaccia and I was impressed with how flavorful it was. The outer crust

If you are watching your carb intake, avoid.
If your weakness is yeast breads, sweet buns made with figs and an assortment of ingredients, this is your place. They make an awesome yeast bun with fresh blueberries from British Columbia.
It's in the enclosed market area. Their sticky toffee buns looked decadent!

The breads on display just look so good, and it's hard to pick just a few! The employee is super nice and efficient. I ended up getting a potato dill focaccia and a grape bread. The breads all tasted flavorful and fresh. The stand is hard to miss on Granville island. There were a bunch of baguettes, savory breads, and sweet breads. I had eaten one and saved the other for later, and I wished I had gotten more.
Till next time! This is definitely a stop I'll be coming back for.

I don't know how some people resist the urge of walking past a bakery when smelling fresh baked bread. I'm *not* some people, and I couldn't resist. I stopped...twice.
The first time, I just I stopped to look at all the baked goods. Pre-planning snacks/ meals is an imperative part of my days on vacation. I decided on the Roasted Red Pepper and Spinach Focaccia Bread would be my choice.
It was still a little early, and we were full from Clam Chowder Pot Pie (see review from A La Mode). We walked around and toured the island. But before leaving, we stopped by for a taste of that

Really nice customer service! I mentioned that I'm lactose intolerant and the cashier literally pulled out a binder of all the ingredients in the items and informed me which ones were dairy free.
I really wanted to try the blueberry bread but it has white chocolate and milk, so I instead tried the fig & ginger scone (all scones are dairy free). I was also tempted by their grape bread, which is their only vegan option.
The fig and ginger scone was great, with sizable chunks of dried fig!

Another fantastic bakery, literally steps away from another one (A Bread Affair). The market has yet more, all of which looked excellent, but we were pastried and breaded out for the day. We bought yet another scone here, a mini loaf of fig and walnut bread, and a sweet bread topped with blueberries. The scone wasn't as good as the one at A Bread Affair, but the other two items were truly excellent. Some of the best bread I've ever eaten.

I went there today for the Hot Chocolate Festival as they are happily part of it! It was my first time at Terra Breads and I was very very satisfied.
Their feature Chocolate Chip Mint was very good plus one of the staff made accidentally a mistake to one of my order and gave me a free drip coffee as an apologie.
Friendly people, fast and effective service.
Maybe next time I will get a breakfast (which was very VERY tempting).
Here is a picture of the Hot Chocolate.
