Designer Sophie Ashby decorated each of the 10 rooms at The Small with the same principles in mind but each has its own character, with custom artworks and designs from an innovative list of collaborators to bring colour, warmth and soul to the building.I have used 12 different colour tones throughout the hotel and each room varies slightly in combination.

At The Robertson Small's tranquil poolside Wellness Rooms, we offer a selection of therapeutic skincare and body treatments, specialised massages, facials, pedicures and manicures.
Commence with a warm, aroma infused sugar scrub and then ease the pains of muscle spasms, arthritis, rheumatism and fatigue with a massage using a muscular aches and pains oil followed by the application of a circulatory boosting gel which leaves the body feeling refreshed and invigorated.

With The Robertson Small Hotel's ethos of supporting and celebrating contemporary art from South Africa, a partnership formed in 2021 with Art Gazette x Norval Foundation elevates this commitment to new heights. Our new collections are curated by talented South African artist, Morn Visagie, who is also the co-founder of Art Gazette, an alternative online art platform for curating collections of art.
In the 150 years since it was founded a lot has changed in Robertson but arguably just as much has not. There is decidedly less wagon building and ostrich feather faming these days, but this is still a small country town flanked by vast, imperious mountain ranges on the banks of the Breede River, decorated by Victorian and Edwardian architecture and streets lined with the purple-flowering Jacaranda trees.

EVERYTHING, but everything was just perfect. The Hotel manager Walter, was outstanding and his service, welcome and knowledge was top class. Ellen in the dining room and bar was great and lovely to talk to, over and above her good service. The room was comfy, warm and cosy with a lovely view over the pool and into the beautiful gardens.

What a fabulous place! Stunning decor, incredible food, but most of all the staff were brilliant! Teena the assistant manager deserves a special mention for his attention to detail, his professionalism and the way he went out of his way to ensure we had such a lovely experience. This place is a gem and I would definitely return. Thank you !
