The Gananoque Inn & Spa
The Gananoque Inn occupies what was originally the Gananoque Carriage Works, a business founded in the 1870s by George and Charles Taylor. A child's cutter built on the premises is on display in the Inn lobby. In 1885, the company was purchased by George Burrows of the Standard Wagon Company of Cincinnati and by 1894, the operation had been moved to Brockville, Ontario.

The picturesque location of the former Gananoque Carriage Works, the substantial character of the building, and its prime location in the heart of the most charming part of the Thousand Islands were the perfect attributes of a summer hotel. Within a few weeks however, debris had been cleared and the Inn was able to open for the summer season.

We loved our new years eve package. The inn went above and beyond to make sure our night didn't feel affected by covid. They brought our late night snacks to our room... Because the dancing was cancelled. The dinner and breakfast went above and beyond. So yummy. The view from our waterfront room was pretty wild as we felt like we were right on the water.
The inn needs updating... Especially in the rooms. This shouldn't stop anybody because it was clean... Cozy and the beds were so nice.

Very charming hotel. It’s an old historic building so doesn’t have all the amenities that newer hotels can offer. Room was clean and quiet, the hot breakfast was included with the room and very delicious.

Been staying here off and on for 17 years. Love it here. The staff is friendly and remember the guests. The rooms are clean and near the water. Ocassionally we boat up and stayed for the night enjoying the restaurant and a walk through town.
Haven't been to the spa since pre COVID don't know if the services are currently available. Last spa treatment was amazing. I highly recommend.

A little pricey for early October but my partner and I enjoyed our stay (290.00 with taxes & fees). We got the river view room with a king bed and jacuzzi! The bed was very comfortable, clean room & a gorgeous view of the water. Adirondack chairs to enjoy outside the room on the water & breakfast was included. The Watermark restaurant is currently closed but the pub is open. Great location - close to the marina & other attractions!

I just had one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life. The problem was the “entertainment”, he was so loud it was traumatizing, and the staff agreed. They said they had already asked him to turn it down and apparently he turned it up instead.
I was early to meet a friend for dinner and I had forgotten my phone, so could not call and have them meet me elsewhere. I asked the staff if they could have someone senior to have him tone it back a bit, and to seat me as far away from the entertainer Trever Walsh, as possible.
It seems he told the staff he would stop playing if he had to turn

We went, as a family to the pub at the Gan Inn. The view from the outside patio is breathtaking. We've been coming here on occasion for years. Unfortunately, despite the excellent service, the food was sooo disappointing. We ordered wings and nachos for the family to share. The wings were sparce but acceptable but the nachos looked like they came from the bottom of the bags. Bits and pieces of dried up chips that had barely any cheese on top. They were dry, tasteless, even our grandchildren didn't want them. There was more cheese in a mousetrap. Sorry. The service was excellent but we won't be going

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean, and the staff was very friendly. The complimentary breakfast was way better than we anticipated. Giving four stars only because the rooms could definitely use an update as everything is very outdated, and the TV was very small and placed very awkwardly in the room where it was so far away from the bed we couldn’t really watch it.

The inn is quite lovely - very charming, pretty rooms. The grounds are beautiful - flowers everywhere, well maintained. We enjoyed the property very much, but the restaurant - avoid it. The food is not good and the wait times (even once seated) are terrible. If the restaurant had been excellent, our experience would have been near perfect. Unfortunately, the inability to get a decent meal at the property really detracted from our stay.

We had to switch rooms after our bathroom was left in dismay and the room was not very clean. The other room we were offered was not much better as there was dust and dirt all over. The floor had looked as though it had not been vacuumed in a month. Aside from being in a nice location, this hotel does not offer much else. Improved cleanliness of the whole hotel would significantly improve the stay.

Lunch on the balcony overlooking the water was beautiful. Lunch for four included poutine, was good, but fries were soggy. Pulled pork was added and was good. Bruchetta was sizable and tasty. Beef veg soup was good. Fish and chips were outstanding. Came upon them when a very irrate customer was having a complete meltdown over being ignored when she was asked to wait to be seated. She said she was a journalist, so look for her review. They were berated and verbally attacked but handled the situation with grace. Manager, a professional older woman, came to apologize to each table for this ugly disruption

Quaint little in. Came for a girls weekend. We stayed in the Calvery House. Very spacious and clean. Musty smelling as it is an old building. Needs a new bed. King size bed is very bowed in the middle, when you roll over you keep on going. No fridge or microwave which was a disappointment. We had brought drinks and food that should have been in a fridge. Luckily it was cold overnight so we kept it in our car.

I know this place from my cousin. He and his wife love to come here when they have the time. I came once and understood their excitement. The restaurant is adorable. Simple, cozy and well-arranged. The food is nothing pretentious, just good delicious meals. Really good choice!
