Services
Get the confidence and skills you need to become a great driver with an experienced driving instructor. Owner-operators Shiraz and Selina Merchant have been training new drivers since 1998. They started Signal Driving School in Calgary, then moved to Strathmore and Chestermere. Shiraz and Selina create a relaxed atmosphere both in class and in the car to help you feel comfortable, and they enjoy spending time helping students hone their skills.
Defensive driving is far more than buckling your seatbelt and driving at the posted speed limit. Our Drive for Life program is designed to teach you better seeing habits while driving, and how to effectively maintain the space around your vehicle. You will find that most collisions can be avoided once you are trained to see potential problems in advance, before they require last-second reactions.
At Signal Driving School, we understand that learning or re-learning driving skills can be difficult and stressful for some. We strive to remove this stress by providing you with knowledge and experience - completing safe, defensive driving maneuvers under the instruction of expert driving instructors.

Horrible experience. We had our 2 of our girls booked and then Covid happened. We hadn’t even started any lessons so we asked for a refund. Selina gave us every excuse in the book and finally, after months of talking to her she refunded some of our money back. She held some money back for “administration fees”.I do not recommend this driving school.

I am so impressed with Signal Driving School. My daughter went through the program several years ago and loved the experience, and my son just completed training and received his license on his first try! He was so well prepared by Selina and Shiraz. They are both fantastic instructors. Although my son drove with me a lot since receiving his learner's, the methodical and detailed instruction from Signal was invaluable for his confidence. If you want a driving school that cares about it's students, Signal Driving School is the place for you.

They will purposely prevent you from booking an appointment and then steal your money using the excuse that your lessons expire after six months when they are the reason you couldn't book an appointment. COMPLETE RIP OFF. Do not book here. They waited until the night before a test to inform my cousin their session was "expired". How can someone pay $800 for them to decide when it's expired or not? The instructor (Selena) even had the audacity to ask for more money so she could take her last lesson. I'm assuming that's why they would do this, so someone feels like they have to pay them in order

This school is a scam. Lessons expire which makes no sense. They’ll cancel on your last practice and say the lesson has expired, forcing you to fork over more cash or waste what you’ve spent. They have no receipts or contracts either so if you do go through them, write it down and have them sign!!!
