My daughter wanted to get acrylic nails for her 16th birthday, but we couldn't get to her usual nail place (TA Nails, they always do an amazing job) so we thought we would try this place. I obviously should have read the reviews beforehand. To note, she's had her nails done multiple places in the past, and a few different ones at that. There have been times she hasn't liked them, but never to the point we went back to the nail salon for it. First of all this place is super overpriced. My friend and I went and they broke her natural nail and tried to fix it with gel. It's been 7 days since we had our nails done and her nail broke already. I had a full set done which cost about $91. The lady made my nail bed bleed and the nails aren't shaped consistently

Unprofessional people are working there. It took me over 2 hours to get my nails done.My best friend was with me and they do not have any sitting arrangement instead of that :-one of the girl said to my friend to leave the place and said once your friend ‘s nails done she could call you to come , which was terrible!

Completely disappointed with the services… I came in Tuesday last week and wanted acrylic nails done with eyebrow waxing and tinting. I had high hopes of beautiful nails. After my nails were done they forgot about my appointment for my brows and said they didn't have product to do it. Even after I double checked the appointment I booked was for all three services. Tuesday I came home right after and the first picture was the result. They didn’t take their time curing it so it ended up bubbling and peaking off. the nail tech didn't make much conversation which i don't mind. overall she gave me what i wanted. however the sides are a little bit messy, she did get a little aggressive, it was pretty good. i would probably go here again if there weren't any openings at my usual nail salon (jadore nails). overall i think they're pretty good. i also asked for shellac polish on the acrylic nails but she used gel anyways.

Booked an appointment in person last week to begin my birthday with a little pampering. Arrived this morning to be told there was no record of my appointment and tried to blame it on booking online. When I told the woman I booked in person she was very dismissive and said it wasn't in the book so too bad. Unfortunately I did not look at reviews of this place before I went, and that was my mistake. I had a shellac manicure done and two days later it began to lift off my nails at the cuticle. The manicure itself was not bad, but I could have done it myself and had it last longer (and not wasted $50). I messaged them and told them the polish was all lifting at the cuticle and was told to come and it would be fixed free of charge. I made an appointment and made the trip over to then be told they would only fix it if it was a couple chips, and that they “didn’t know why the polish was peeling at

I went in on impulse for a shellac polish w/ no manicure service (shape, buffer and polish). I sat down and the nail tech immediately grabbed my hand and began to file a nail with an already used file, didn't ask what shape or length I wanted and before I realized she wasn't sticking to the nail shape I had, I felt the file against my nail bed (they were long) so I looked down, and it was short and round. This place is the most unprofessional place I've ever been to. I have a gift certificate from a couple years ago worth $110. I lost it and then found it and wanted to use it. No one ever told me they ever expired and it makes no sense to say it expires as they took $110 for no services. It does not make any sense. Anyways I went in and they told me they can't take it because it's 2 years old. It was still on file that it was UNUSED. She told me to call the manager. I've been calling everyday for 3 weeks. I got my done nails here at the Halifax shopping center with my friend and got a simple polish change. Communication was very hard, it was difficult to understand where to go and we had to wait with our colors after booking a appointed because no one told us where to go. Once she was done she made me dry my hands with a bath heater wich caused multiple air bubbles. When it was time to pay she told us we couldn't touch anything then proceeded to open our bags for us and take the money out without permission, luckily she didnt scam us. The Worst! They are more concerned with pushing people through than actually doing nails. Went there for main + pedi, and is horrible. The manager kept pushing me to do shellac nails which I did not want. No nail grooming on toes and no base coat on either. She kept trying not to paint my nails since I said I was moving! Spent $140 for 2 manis / pedis = the worst! NEVER return!

I took my 14 year old step daughters to rainbow nails today for graduation nails. I went inside to discuss with the lady at the front desk about price and how much they had to spend and was very clear on what they were having done. As soon as I left they immediately started trying to add on to what they were having done and up sell them. I understand that this is common practice with adults but it's absolutely shameful to rip off a child! Her 30 dollar nails ended up being 60 dollars ! I got my nails done here with "gel" which is actually just acrylic powder that they put under a uv light so they can charge you more. They filed my nails down so low with the drill they actually bruised all my nail beds. They cut me many times cutting my cuticles and filing my nails as well. The polish application was subpar and the nail shapes were off as well my nails all fell off on their own very quickly. Overall was a bad experience.

Yet another disappointment.. I thought I'd give them a try but as usual they managed to ruin it.. I was told to wait for my appointment for 5 mins then 15 mins later I was told that there was no such appointment. And when I started to complain I was literally told to stop talking and that there is nothing they can do and almost got kicked out of the place!! Beware of the horrible service.. if u r looking for decent service better take your business elsewhere.. which I could give them minus stars but yelp is too kind!

I went to Rainbow out of convenience. I wanted to take my gels off and get a plain polish. I normally go to Princess in Clayton Park, but it was late and I was already at the mall & Princess doesn't do Sundays.
When the 'Tech' was cutting my pinky nail and the artificial one at once, to get between them to remove the artificial one, she cut down so far that she cut my real nail and exposed the sensitive skin underneath. I had to immediately put a band aid on it after I left; I didn't realize how sensitive

Horrible experience! Dirty, unsanitary and the end result was bad! French shellac and manicure. There were dirty nail clippings on the towel when I sat down. I asked for a clean towel - she just shook the clippings onto the floor and proceeded. Tools were not sanitized. She wiped someone elses skin off the cuticle pusher and cutter and she cut me! Horrible job overall. My cuticles were not pushed back, I have hangnails, the polish does not go to the top of nail and the french is uneven and you can see through it. Not to mention she continuously scraped her nails under and around mine. Yuck!! $50

I took my mother there to get our nails done. When she was finished before me, the owner made her go sit in the mall rather than stay with me while she waited. She is a senior and it was terribly rude to send her away. Oh and yes there was an empty chair.
I had a pedicure and shellac manicure. Ive been getting Shellac on my nails for years. It normally lasts 2-3 weeks. One day after it was applied, 3 nails were already peeling off. By the end of the first week they were a complete mess.

I work at Halifax Shopping Centre and I needed my nails done so I went to rainbow nails because it's in the mall. They were not very friendly when I arrived there the young girl who actually did my nails hardly spoke except for to the woman who is the owner's wife. She did an okay job although she was very rushed and didn't make everything very even but it was okay. I came back before my two weeks was up because the nails were starting to come off and they didn't look very nice around the base but I figured that is because I work with my hands a lot I chalked it up to that.

His wife did the extensions and kept telling her that she guarantees her work and that my friend can come anytime if she doesn't like anything with the nails.. That night my friend noticed some issues with the application and we went back again today.. The owner started by telling her that no one was available even though most aestheticians were free and when I pointed that out he says they are not available for "free" work

I went into Rainbow nails for a full set of acylic nails about a month ago. It cost me $45 for the new set and that included the airbrushed french tips.
I was not overly impressed with the nails. They stayed on good, but they didn't look as good as I thought they were going to.
