Eve is Shades owner and operator with years of experience in the beauty industry. She has owned and operated successful salons in Montreal, St. Johns, Moncton and now Bedford, all while working behind the chair.

Sharon has been a professional hairstylist for over 20 years and an esthetician for over 5 years. She's a master colorist as well as a certified podologist. She has been customizing Wigs with cuts and styles for over 15 years. Sharon always keeps up with her education, having studied in Toronto, Montreal & here in Halifax.

Amanda has been my hairdresser for I'd say about 6 years now? I hardly ever go to get my hair done, so when I do it's a BIG deal and make sure I choose her. I've trusted Amanda in all my stages of life (short hair, long layers, bangs, rescues from "diy" hair ideas that failed hard). I trust her immensely.

This place is hijab friendly! Also, I keep coming back because Aida might be one of the few people in central halifax that knows how to cut and style thick long hair without decreasing any volume. She's curteous and fun and knows exactly what she's doing. I found my stylist!

I had my very first mani/pedi experience this weekend. The facilities were lovely with excellent covid safety measures in place. My technician was so great, super friendly and made it a very relaxing and… pleasant experience. Unfortunately I didn't get her name and when I went on the website to find her in your staff section I was very disappointed to see she wasn't on there. I hope this is fixed immediately. To the stunning woman with the braided dreads, thank you! I will be booking with you again!

My wife scheduled her appointment weeks in advance for a perm, she had let them know that her hair was thick and died, they seemed to have no problem with this and took the appointment. My wife was so excited for her appointment as she does not go to the salon often... Only to go in and have the stylist tell her that her hair was "Too thick," "Dyed," and "Too pretty," and that the stylist would not do the perm!... MY WIFE LEFT IN TEARS!!! upon hearing this I decided to call, and was told "the technician thought a perm would damage your wife's hair, and if the technician decides they don't want

Went for a few layers. Pieces were hacked off not blended. Uneven cut throughout.
Was told by owner that I would not get a refund and that I was a liar,
I asked that we sit with the stylist to discuss and was refused. I left in disbelief.
They do not guarentee their work.
I went to my usual hairstylist to correct the hacked job and my stylist who has been in the buisness for 35 years said "I have never seen anything like it in my life".

I haven't been to a salon in 7 years, I was so excited to finally get my hair done professionally again. But it was not the experience I expected.
I called booked an appt, explained my hair was long, thick,… dyed... I explained what I wanted done and my appt was booked it took 2 weeks to get my appt. Due to covid19 but I was so excited to go. They told me not to redye my hair because it had to be at least a month in the difference, so I said no issue its already been a month and add the next 2 weeks in I was well within the safe limit.

Was accepted as a walk-in which was great! I thought I was going to get a spa pedicure, but got a regular one but that was likely due to miscommunication on my part. The woman who did my pedicure was very professional and friendly and did a great job on my toes. I had wished I had been given the spa pedicure (as my feet needed some extra work to say the least!), and thought what I paid was quite a bit for a regular one (even with shellac) but I didn't want to complain. I did contact them later to find out why I got something different than booked and clarify prices and the owner was very professional
